Default a heads up....

As some of you may already know - I got laid off as the product of a reduction in workforce about 2 weeks ago from the company that brought me up here to begin with. I had decided to take a couple months off and live off of my severence and savings while I went on vacation or just sat around on my ass and do nothing....

I've had a couple interviews with Texas Instruments in the mean time, talked with Ratheyon, and found that I can stay up here and have my pick at either of those companies.... However.. that was until Samsung in Austin called me. They'll be taking me down to Austin next week for interviews, and if all goes well - there's a chance I may be moving BACK as soon as right after the meet that I've been planning - and anytime before June 9th.

That said - There are a couple of you who have wanted me to do some small jobs on your cars - you know who you are - I suggest we try and get this all done as quickly as possible. There's no telling who will give a better offer at this time between TI and Samsung - and I don't know where I'll be a month from now.

So far my schedule is as follows... Mark has dibs at our earliest convenience for me to add some goodies to his car - then the weekend of the 10th I'll be pulling gecko1's engine then dropping it into Reed Racer's car shortly there after hoplefully in time for her car to make it to the meet on the 18th.

Javier

Have you thought about part-time school as well? It can only improve your worth Maybe one of those companies would be willing to pay for it, too I'm only asking because I want to see your sexy ass on campus. You know that.

PS: Bummer about the old job, but congrats on all the top-tier options!!!

All of these companies have tuition reimbersment / a school program... I just never made use of it at my last place. That's actually something I talked to the people at Samsung about. Besides - I know you miss me.

Javier, sucks about the lay off. their loss. but congrats on the offers from some very huge companies! its nice when you get to pick from offers rather than scrambling for anything. Dallas is...well....Dallas. you're an Austonian at heart. move back to keep Adam company. he get's lonely at night.

plus, my sister is going to UT in the fall. you know all signs point to Austin when a Dallasite (me) would rather live in Austin than where he grew up.

best of luck in your decision, i'll be back in Dallas May 22-26. we'll have to get together then.

Thanks for the warm comments, guys. I haven't made up my mind yet - and I have yet to see what Samsung in Austin is offering (I have a ball park idea after our talks - but it'll take me going down there to iron everything out) I'm really liking the opportunity at T.I. though too... hmmmm We'll see - I'm still hell bent on taking a vacation!

Andrew - FYI - it's AUSTINITE - not "austonian" HAHAHA

As far as being full time - yes - you have to be full time to receive benifits such as going back to school at the company's expense. That's what I'd be doing - hell - I haven't had a part time job since before I graduated college. LOL

I have some thinking ahead of me.

You say "Austinite"

Someone else says "Austonian"

In either case, they are the closest things to Californians this side of Boulder, Colorado

PS, that was NOT meant as a compliment!
