Wouldn't it be awesome though if someone started "stock car" racing again. I mean go to a track and see mustangs, impalas, camaros, all just built up by guys like us in their garage and ran with no sponsers. The red necks might take it over but it'd still be cool.
I think some local tracks call it "run what ya brung", lol. But I agree with you. The days of driving a car from the dealership to the track and running it are gone. It was great for manufacturers and consumers alike. The car that won on Sunday, sold on Monday. Now all the car manufacturers have to do is tell 'em what car will run this year.
"Um, ok, slap a Impala SS sticker on it" or Fusion or Charger and we know they aren't anything like the 'stock' car. That really went out with window when NASCAR allowed Ford to run the Taurus. A serious grocery getter in NASCAR and it was a 4 door, I still can't understand that one...
At least in the 80's, if it was a T-Bird, it looked like a T-Bird. The Monte Carlo SS was a twin to its Aerocoupe street brother. Some sexy mid to late 80's cars...big and fast...
Well, off to IHOP to try and put them out of business!
What a ripoff! If I was Matt enseth, I'd be happy I won and pissed I won that way. No victory lap, no donuts in the grass, no smoke show. Ripped off.
Red Neck rodeo. You gotta get outta the garage more. Go to a race and it'll chance your stance...
I live in Charlotte NC. It don't get any more Nascar country than that. And no, it hasn't changed my mind. It's nothing more than a redneck drunk party.
Hell, I can hear them testing at Lowes motorspeedway from here. Yeee Haw!
