Hello guys, my gt just currently broke last week. I need to find a good mechanic for these cars around waco area. let me know if there is anyone around. I think it was the seals around the spark plugs, because there is oil everywhere. I consider myself ok around cars but don't really have the tools to do work on these type of cars besides the normal maintanance.

Can it still drive? Ifso we are having a car fixing drinking party in austin this friday

If it is the seals, get a valve cover gasket kit from mitsu or autozone plus some high temp rtv

well here is the story, my 3000gt is my daily driver for a while now, it has about 148k miles on it, it has been smoking white some at idle for some time now. it has progressively gotten worse. I drive to Arlington two to three times a week. cause I go to UTA. One week before my GT broke I bought a 2000 Audi A4 1.8t so that is what I am driving right now. I was going to drive the gt last monday and it sounded pretty bad like it was choking on oil (gargling). I opened the hood and saw a lot of oil in the front part of the engine so I just left it alone. It wants to start but I don't want to keep trying of fear of breaking something else.
Yes I am in Waco, I work at Magic China
I would go to the Austin thing but my car won't run.

I have had my car since 98 well it was my wifes car but she drives the Xterra now, she feels more comfortable.

I am sorry but I am not aware of how an engine gargles oil nor how you could end up with oil in the front of the engine bay.. unless main seal spinning oil on left side of engine..perhaps a head gasket..overheating any? Sorry but don't know any folks that way

well it didn't really gargle, just that it sounded really bad from the engine and I didnt keep trying to turn it on. I will check it out tomorrow. It never overheated, but it did burn a lot of oil the last few months.
