Hey guys i'm new to the site and looking to purchase a '96-'98 SL 3000GT. I"m sorry if this is not the place to post this ad but seeing as how i live in ohio i'm hoping you all can give me some advice on where to find one. Looking for black or white, leather, don't care if its automatic or stick. Also I"m interested in your thoughts i've read that some guys are running regular gas with no issues and others are straight premium....thoughts?
Thanks, John...the truck guy who wants to be a GT guy. |

at the top of the Ohio section you'll see a thread about ohio cars for sale or want to buy. This thread should be posted in there.
First off, Welcome! Ohio section contains alot of really great guys from all over the state, if you ever need help feel free to ask for it here. as for your question, like I said there is a "car for sale" its one of the blue "sticky" threads at the top of the page. Also, there are the normal sites ie. cars.com, craigslist.org, autotrader.com. Also on the main page at the bottom there is a "cars for sale" thread which would cover all cars for sale not just Ohio. and if youd like a dark green 94 3000 with 175k, great mechanically and garage kept, with leather, you let me know ![]() once again welcome and hope to see you around!

I have a 5spd 95 in green - PM me if you want more information. I'm looking to get $4200.
As far as gas goes, I only put premium and never anything less, I won't even settle for 89.. Its either 92, 93 or 94. The car will run on less octane but it isn't good for it. I don't recommend it at all.

Welcome again! You should come to the next OH 3S meet and get real experience with the cars and real owners (Not ones trying to sell you something). That is, of course, assuming the meet goes better than the last one we had...
Are you looking for the hoop style wing or the active aero wing? I havent seen any black or white ones around here, other than the ones on the car selling sticky, but I have seen two red ones, a red 95 and a red 98. I'll keep my eyes open for you. Im sure some gurus on here can tell you better, but when I was looking for my 3S, I did a lot of research on the 60K and 120K tune up. I specifically checked out the car to make sure it had the tune up done on time, and various other things people told me to look for, which I cant recall at the moment. If it didnt have the tune up, then I told them to drop the price or I wasnt interested. And if there is any questions you have, chances are someone else has already asked it and has gotten answers. If searching brings up no answers, then feel free to throw a new idea out there. ![]()
