Default Electrical Problem - Need a Good Garage - Cleveland Heights

I drove my 92 R/T to the supermarket yesterday, and when I turned it on and attached the faceplate to my stereo, the engine cut and white smoke came out of the vents and steering column (smells like electrical fire--burnt flux).

Anyone know of a reliable shop around Cleveland Heights/University Circle?

thanks,
tim

Only shop i Know around the area is wire wizards. And i think its actually more akron area. But they will rack you up for a lot of $ for their diagnostic time.

I don't have ANY personal experience, but there's a shop on Mayfield road, near warrensville center that had a red twin turbo sitting outside it for about a year I also see riced out 2g Eclipses sitting out front all the time... so they might be a performance shop.

There's another shop on Mayfield accross from the Toyota dealership, near the Honda dealership... One of the mechanics owns a 1g GSX and seems cool. i occasionally see some nice cars getting worked on there, too.

Sorry i couldn't be of more help, but 1, I've never had to take any of my 3/s's to a shop, and 2, there just AREN'T ANY near cleveland heights

My money is your ECU took a crap

Bust it out of the car and open it up. See if its burnt.

Start hunting for an ecu prob.

I've never heard anything good about wire wizards when I lived in Akron.

Pull the ECU and a quick sniff should confirm if it might be the problem.

I removed the ECU, and it was the burnt up--one of the three faulty capacitors went. I replaced it with a rebuilt ECU from foreign computer repair, and i replaced the ISC, but it still won't start.
