Lots of car based amusement coming up. Nelson Ledges raceway in Northeast Ohio will be the next round. I've been told that there are !! 132 !! teams entered. I'm part of Team Psychosis. No were not running a GT since they rarely sell for $500 which is the limit that you can pay for your racecar. Were going to flog a Dodge Omni GLH that used to be run in SCCA events. At least we didnt have to fabricate a roll bar. It was already in the car.

Come on out and enjoy the races, or identify yourself and we'll put you to work as part of the crew. Dont say crew at the gate since I saw on the website they are pimping "crew" $60 to get in. Spectators are $25. Tent camping or bring your motorhome.

Since no-one said HI from here over the weekend, I'll let you know it was a real hoot! Some of the cars were hilarious and some were very serious. A Porsche got picked for destruction at midnight and got the "cash for clunkers" penalty instead of the expected crusher. It got an oil additive to destroy the engine.

Someone did enter a GT painted in the old Gulf oil GT40 blue/orange. It wasnt on the track when I found it in the pits and there wasnt anyone around to talk to.

Our Omni GLH expired with 2.5 hours to go. It went POOF and quit. We found water in the oil so at minimum its a head gasket, but I think it will be more.

If you get the chance to attend one of these events you need to get a chair and watch Tech inspection. Seeing all the wacky cars and their wacky owners dressed up (Like Batman and Robin for one car!) is an absolute hoot. I missed most of it doing last minute prep for the Omni.
