Default some questions

Couple of questions:
There is a 3SNY member, silver first gen VR-4 whose car looks sick and has a lot of ideas I would like to apply to my car's exterior such as the 99 rear garnish and sail panels, props man. I was wondering if the sail panels you can buy on 3sx are the same color as first gens, meaning is the 99 red the same as the 93 red? Second I noticed his car didnt have a sun/moon roof which I never really noticed before. Next I posted about wanting to clean up my engine bay and saw that somebody had taken off their valve color and sanded it to clean it up a bit, does that work well?
I have a Borla cat-back and it is loud as hell inside my car, I read on another thread about something that Borla sells to silence that a bit but couldnt find it on my own. I have a really good job this summer and am pumped to mess around with my car a bit, would love to put in a downpipe, and have been reading tons of threads but am still pretty much an amateur with all this stuff, thus far you guys have been awesome with suggestions and such, so thanks.

You're talking about Matt, "soclose3kgt"
Each year, Mitsubishi offered multiple reds. It depends on what shade your car is. I just got my 99 bumper which shipped in red and I'm not positive if it's the same exact shade but it blends just fine. No need to even paint it. I would say that you most likely won't even need to paint the sail panels. The shades are all pretty close.
For the valve cover, I'd recommend powdercoating. There's a guy in CT who offers reasonable prices for powerdercoating. His board name is Pensky3thousand.
And as far as downpipe goes, I'd recommend a Stillen or even IPS. Try to search for used ones on the forum because a new one will run you $300 - $400 bucks.
Glad to see that you have the motivation to want to make the car nicer.
Good Luck
