Default Transfer Case Recall in CT area

Hey all,

Has anyone gotten their recall done in the CT area? I am getting the run around and if there is a dealership that anyone used that did it once, especially more than once as I was advised that:

1) no recall at first
2) after I provided the recall # they said oh it was done already

Mine is leaking a few drops overnight so I really don't even want to drive the car at this point even though it is making no whining or noises.

Default Re: Transfer Case Recall in CT area

If you want to verify that the recall WAS indeed performed at some point, you can call any Mitsu dealership with your VIN # and they can tell you exactly where and when it was done. Regardless of whether or not it was done, it MUST be done again if the problem persists, and any dealership MUST comply and fix it. Having been through this whole rigamaroll (sp?) myself once, I learned that it is NOT a "one-and-done" fix. Since it was a national safety recall, a dealership is obligated to repair (re-seal) the T-case, or, if it's found to be too far gone, to replace it altogether.

In my case, I had a '92 Stealth to which the t-case recall had already been performed (resealed), but by the time I bought it 3 years later it was weeping a little bit already and needed to get done again. The dealership of course did not want to do it at first, stating that it had already been done. So I called the Dodge national recall phone number (whatever it was... you can search on 3si and find it somewhere like I did) and they told me that it was my right to have it done again. I had a Dodge representative call the dealership directly to lean on them a little... next thing you know I had my car back and all was fixed.

Hope that helps! ... and good luck-
