My Transmission is blown...anyone know what my best option is to getting a new/used/rebuilt 6spd?

Edit: is it worth having the tranny opened and looked at for a rebuild? fuck, I dont know shit about transmissions.

I posted another thread about this, but here is the cliff notes.

About 2 weeks ago I started to hear what i thought was a weird "lifter" kind of noise....i didnt pay much attention. Yesterday I launched the car at a red light and then heard non-stop loud sound, like someone was beating on the engine with a metal rachet or something. The shop said they put it on the lift and drop it and the sound is coming from the tranny, its not a CV joint like i thought. They said there was liquid around it (but i never recalled seeing any oil on the ground).

I'll look *GT (Tim) up... FUCK!

It may be able to be welded, if not you will have to get a replacement bellhousing.

The bellhousing is the part of the trans that bolts to the engine block. On a 6 speed the bellhousing is a weak point and on a hard enough launch it can be cracked/broken.

Replacement involves removal of the transmission.

As far as cost I honestly don't know.
