Default Anyone wanna help a kid with a TT?

First off I'm located in Chelmsford Mass, near lowell. I recently rebuilt my 1992 Stealth TT, and I'm having problems getting it to idle properly. It only idles for about 15-20 seconds, then dies. I'm also having either insainely loud lifter tick, or I've spun a bearing. but I've drained the oil twice and found minimal shavings. I would like to try a different ECU to see if it will help the idle. A set of good ears would be nice too, since I have no experience with lifter tick vs. spun bearing.

Thanks alot, Pete.

Some of you may have seen my Epic failure: My Twin Turbo rebuild thread, so you get the idea of what kind of work I have to do now.
Same deal as before though, I have little expereince and would greatly appreciate any wisdom bestowed upon me by my NE3S elders.

hey man I can help you out whenever I got some time, As far as ECU I could let you borrow mine sometime when I am not driving the VR-4 or if my dad isnt crusing in it during the weekend. As far as lifter Its pretty obvious I could tell pretty fast....

Oh we could also pull the ECU and check for leaky caps no reason to jump for the ecu replacement right away But I know its tempting to just put another one in there.... Also how is your ECS I hear it can backfire to the ECU and damage it....

For all I know, my ECS is fine. But then again, the car hasn't run in 9 months, and when it did, I only put about 50 miles on it, so I really couldn't say...

And as far as the ECU goes, if somebody has one that I could borrow, I could go just about anywhere in MA to pick it up if necessary. I would only need it for an hour or so....

Yeah it did. I had litterally no idea of the problem till I pulled my rear head of at around 4:00 this morning. I'll still probably need an ECU, as I had wanted to swap one in before I rebuilt...
But seeing as how I had VERY shitty compression on 4 out of 6 cylinders, means that and ECU could have only done so much. Fixing my valve seat issues and the washer issue (definitely a noob moment ) should help me out a little I think
Thanks for the offer, but I think I'm going to keep this car

I have an ECU lying around some where. I'm not to far from you either.
