Default Turbo timer and vac routing question

I am lookin at pickin up a blitz dual dtt turbo timer. It says that it doubles as a boost gauge. Any opinions on it? Is it ok to use this as the boost gauge? Also, does the length of the vac tubing routed to and from a mbc make a differnce? I was thinkin about modifying the lighter to fit over the adjust knob of an ebay mbc.

The length of the vacuum tubing to/from a boost controller does matter. Shorter tubing = quicker response time, although since the tubing size is small, it probably won't make a big difference.
