NG08 Cruise to Memphis

Ok well spring is creaping up on us and before we know it the NG will be here.

I made a thread in the Regional area about having other caravans meet up with us. But this is the tread to discuss our plan of attack.

I did a quick google map from our shop:

1. Head west on W Epler Ave toward Bluff Rd 0.8 mi
2. Turn right at S Harding St 0.4 mi
3. Turn right at S Harding St/IN-37 N Continue to follow S Harding St 0.6 mi
4. Turn left to stay on S Harding St 0.1 mi
5. Take the ramp onto I-465 W/I-74 W 4.8 mi
6. Take exit 9A-B to merge onto I-70 W toward St Louis Enter Illinois 137 mi
7. Continue on I-57 S (signs for I-57 S/Memphis) Entering Missouri 180 mi
8. Take exit 1A to merge onto I-55 S toward Memphis Enter Arkansas 134 mi
9. Slight left at I-40 E (Nashville/Memphis/I-40 E) Entering Tennessee 9.9 mi
10. Take exit 2A on the left toward US-51/Millington 0.6 mi
11. Merge onto TN-300 W 0.7 mi
12. Take the US-51 N exit toward Millington 0.4 mi
13. Merge onto Thomas St/US-51 Continue to follow US-51

478 mi – about 7 hours 24 mins

so thats the directions I was planning on. We can all meet up somewere close to 70 with a large parking lot and maybe somewhere we can grab some snacks and gas.

I plan on getting to the hotel around 4 or 5pm on Tuesday June 17th. So we will probably want to meet up around 8am so we can be on the road shortly after that. Justin (Jhut03) will be pulling a trailer so we wont be able to go too terriably fast. Probably average speeds of around 75mph. Which should get us there right about when map quest says we will.

Let me know if anyone has any questions or suggestions.

Id like to plan some stops on the way down to meet up with other caravans so we can get as big of a crew pulling in as possible.

No one going to the NG?? It was suggested that we take 65 south to Nashville then 40 down to memphis. It is a much easier drive, but it is about 40 miles longer.

There's a bunch of us going, I'm just thinking it's too early to make caravan plans. I know I'm leaving on the 12th, arriving in Memphis on the 13th, then staying until the 23rd, returning home on the 24th, so I'm out... Alan is coming down a little early, too.

Michigan people - WHERE ARE Y'ALL?!?! I know a bunch of you are coming down, so pipe up! Help a guy out who just wants to have a litte fun! It's a long drive - enjoy it with a bunch of others!!

And those who haven't registered yet... Get your asses in gear! We need to show a huge support here. Alan and I especially need you to support us personally. This has been a huge and difficult endeavor. Please don't let us down! We want to see EVERYONE there!

I have been in a mass cruise showing up to the NG and let me tell you it is a fun way to show up!
