NG08 Cruise to Memphis

Only 1 Month till the NG!!!
Time to plan the caravan.

I am trying to organize a large caravan. Here is the route we will be taking and the rest of the information from the thread I posted in my local chapter. If your route matches up with ours at all or we are on your way please plan on meeting up with us for the trip down!

I did a quick google map from our shop:

1. Head east on W Epler Ave 1.2 mi
2. Turn left at S East St/US-31 N 0.6 mi
3. Take the ramp onto I-465 E 2.0 mi
4. Take exit 53B to merge onto I-65 S toward Louisville 279 mi
5. Take exit 84B to merge onto I-40 W toward Memphis 182 mi
6. Take exit 24-25 for TN-385 W toward Millington 1.3 mi
8. Merge onto TN-385 N 16.2 mi
9. Take the US-51 S exit 0.3 mi
10. Turn left at US-51 N/US-51 S 2.3 mi
11. Make a U-turn at Wortham Rd 489 ft

To: 6656 US Highway 51 N
Millington, TN 38053


487 mi – about 7 hours 22 mins

So thats the directions I was planning on. We can all meet up at the shop if that is cool with everyone or we can find a gas station with a big parking lot to meet at.

I plan on getting to the hotel around 4 or 5pm on Tuesday June 17th. So we will probably want to meet up around 8am so we can be on the road shortly after that. Justin (Jhut03) will be pulling a trailer so we wont be able to go too terriably fast. Probably average speeds of around 75mph. Which should get us there right about when map quest says we will.

Let me know if anyone has any questions or suggestions.

Id like to plan some stops on the way down to meet up with other caravans so we can get as big of a crew pulling in as possible. We will be meeting Terry (Maximal Performance) in Louisville and hopefully picking up others as we go.

I suggest everyone invest in some FRS radios so we can keep in contact with eachother on the trip.

No one going to the NG?? It was suggested that we take 65 south to Nashville then 40 down to memphis. It is a much easier drive, but it is about 40 miles longer.

There's a bunch of us going, I'm just thinking it's too early to make caravan plans. I know I'm leaving on the 12th, arriving in Memphis on the 13th, then staying until the 23rd, returning home on the 24th, so I'm out... Alan is coming down a little early, too.

Michigan people - WHERE ARE Y'ALL?!?! I know a bunch of you are coming down, so pipe up! Help a guy out who just wants to have a litte fun! It's a long drive - enjoy it with a bunch of others!!

And those who haven't registered yet... Get your asses in gear! We need to show a huge support here. Alan and I especially need you to support us personally. This has been a huge and difficult endeavor. Please don't let us down! We want to see EVERYONE there!

yeah come on people. Lets get on this. I have a room I dont care if you have to sleep on the floor if it means you can go to the gathering.

I have been in a mass cruise showing up to the NG and let me tell you it is a fun way to show up!

It might help if this was a sticky or at least at the top till NG08 is over. Also might be better in the national section. Dunno.

i cant make it a sticky and there is one in the national section. Just hasnt been bumped in a while
