If you figure $100 for the timing belt, $100 for the hydraulic tensioner, and $50 for the tensioner pully, plus $400 labor, that's about right, if not a little low on the labor. But that wouldn't include water pump, idler pulley or anything else. And if it does turn out you bent some valves, you'll be able to re-use the new parts, but you'll be out on the labor because it will have to be done all over agaiin, and more.

whats a good 120k need?
this is what 3sx says to do
This DOHC bundle includes the water pump and gaskets, timing belt, timing belt hydraulic tensioner, timing tensioner pulley, and the tensioner pulley tool youll need when installing the timing belt.

and they charge 400 for everything

That stuff you listed is part of a 60K. A 120K includes the oil pump. Depending on the milliage, I'd suggest the 120K. If the teeth on the belt stripped off, it's just as likely you bent valves in which case your heads will need to be rebuild. Usually the pistons are decent and usable. It really wouldn't be too bad to rebuild the heads and do a 120K on the motor. If you have a really high millage motor, just rebuild the whole thing. There are a few of us in the area that can do this. If you want to go with a 3.5L engine, you're gonna have to talk to John Monnin (iirc). He's not too far away and is one of the originals to the 3.5L swap.

It was still on the pullys when i took off the cover, but there were rubber shavings all over and the teeth were ripped off the belt. All i can do is hope but if the motor is bad....wtf am i gunna do? is it smarter to repair the motor? buy a new one? part out the car(which i dont think i can do... its my baby and she is beautiful)
what do you guys think? or....
i could make it a 3.1/3.5 liter? that would be bad ass but i need to learn a lot more about the mechanics of these cars before i can jump in and do that or i could pay one of you guys to help me with it....
i dont know well see and ill keep posted on how shes doing.
thanks

120K includes tensioner, pulley, oil pump, water pump, timing belt, and gaskets. If you have one of us do it, we'll already have the timing tensioner tool. What you're looking at sounds like a 60K, which is a 120K w/o the oil pump basically.

And the downpipe, and the starter, and the two tranny brackets, and the flywheel dust shield before you can drop the oil pan. Then there's the AC compressor, the AC bracket, and the oil filter housing bracket before you can remove the oil filter housing.

Remember Jeff, on an n/a you don't have to pull the a/c bracket

Isn't there a small bracket that secures the oil filter housing to the block? And if so, isn't it cover up by the AC bracket?

Edit: Wait, I just finished rebuilding a NA engine, so I should be able to remember this, but I don't. That oil filter housing bracket is only on TT engines right? If that's the case, then you don't have to pull the AC compressor and bracket.
