Default Screwed by Suprerior Private Auto care - can some one help me out?

I bought an engine from Superior Private Auto Care, which was stated as being from a 93 Stealth RT/TT. What I received was an engine from a 91 RT/TT. There is a huge difference. Vince is trying to play dumb, like he didn't know. From what I've read this guy does a lot of work on 3S cars. He even stripped a couple of cams out of it to use elsewhere, which was fine I knew that going in. But, you can't tell me that a guy that has one of the fastest 3S's doesn't know what he's got. I think he truelly misrepresented the engine and is playing dumb. What should I do? Is there anyone that can go rough him up for me?

Ricer: from the latin word Ricarius meaning to suck at everything you attempt

A person who makes unnecessary modifications to their most often import car (hence the term "rice") to make it (mostly make it look) faster. The most common modifications are (but not limited to):

- Huge exhaust that serves no purpose but to make the car louder
- Large spoiler on the back that looks like something Boeing made for the 747
- Lots of after-market company stickers they don't have parts from, but must be cool
- Expensive rims that usually cost more than the car itself
- Body kit to make the car appear lower, usually accented with chicken wire
- Clear tail lights and corner signals
- A "performance intake"- a tube that feeds cold air to their engine usually located in areas of excessive heat (behind or on top of the engine)
- Most of these riced cars (a.k.a. rice rockets or rice burners) are imports; Honda Civics, Accords, Integras, CRXs, RSXs, Del Sols Mitsubishi Eclipses, Lancers, Subaru Imprezas, however there are some domestics such as Chevrolet Caviliers, Dodge Neons, Ford Focus; small, slow, economy cars designed specifically to go slow. Please note that some 3000gt's Supras, Skylines, WRX's and other higher performance imports are designed to go fast, and are therefore not always considered rice, but it really depends on the severity of the case.

who is Superior Private Auto Care? In Las Vegas? Address? Phone?

If this guy has "one of the fastest stealths" then he sure is being quiet about it, seems like we would have heard of him?

Maybe I'm dense.

Ok, fine I just decided to search. He's only like 6 miles from me.

Found a thread by F27Corsair explaining his shop. Funny how he specializes in these cars yet doesn't post on the largest 3S Message board in the world, doesn't come to meets, etc. etc.

Good luck to ya, tho.

So he won't offer any type of refund or work with you to fix the problem? I know I wouldn't be to happy if I got a 2 bolt when I expected a 4, but I would try to work it out first. I would agree with you from what I read about the guy, it seems like he would have known that it wasn't a 93. And even if he is "playing dumb" he's still liable as that is his fault for misrepresenting the item, so don't let him use that as an excuse. Well good luck, hopefully it'll work out for you...

I'm sorry to hear that you're in the situation that you're in.

The most important question is what do you want to happen in the end? Do you want your money back or is getting the correct motor more important to you?

I don't know what anyone in Vegas can do for you directly since there aren't a lot of people here that associate directly with Vince or that could do anything.

Jeremy is right, Vince doesn't post here (from what I know at least) and he doesn't come to meets or makes himself more active with the 3S people in Vegas. There are only a few people that ever talk to him directly that I know or have met and he stays to himself for the most part it seems.

As far as getting what you are rightfully (legally?) owed, I think your only course of action is to first attempt to resolve it with Vince directly and if something is not worked out between you, then it's something you'll have to take to a legal adviser. I'm sorry that you've gotten into the situation that you're in.

I take it that you don't live in Vegas? Shawn, Driftersdr, you two don't live in Vegas do you?

Thanks for the advice guys. After explaining the difference in detail, I think he understands that I am not an idiot kid who bought just bought any motor. He seems at this point to be very willing to work something out. I doubt I'll get any money back, but maybe some extra parts or something.

John, check out his listing for the 93 VR4 rotating assembly. Like the cast crank? Yeah right it's from a 93.

Vince is a bitch. He has ripped off alot of people here, in Vegas anyways. Not alot of good things to say about him. He has a very nice shop, but everyone that has done business w/ him, has lost $. I've seen some of his work, blown up, N/A conversions because of just bad work and tunning. Other people can tell you of his great work
