First contact with Vegas 3/S
I was finally authorized for the Vegas 3/S board and I made the post for first contact. Let's hope this doubles our count.
Just to echo it here, this is what I wrote:
"Hi everyone,
This is my first post on this forum so I'll do a bit of introduction for myself before I get to the heart of the matter. My name is Jon (aka Blurr) and I am a 3/S enthusiast in Vegas and have been for the last few years. So of course, I'm saddened to know that while there are heavily active groups for pretty much every car but ours, we remain primarily inactive.
Because of this, I've come to the conclusion that it's time for something more.
That being said, after careful consideration and convining with several people. I'm making the official announcement for a 3/S meet up on Thursday the 27th of July at the In N Out on Sahara, just west of the 15. Cars start arriving at 8pm (I'll be there then).
Yes, there are other car clubs that meet up there including Flat4, the Lancer, RX-7, and Supra crews amongst others. I chose this location because I feel that it'd be best to be amonst other performance or auto enthusiasts instead of meeting in isolation. I've gone to a few of the meetups there and everyone there seemed very chill, especially the Flat4 crew who I have friends within. From what I understand, there is rarely any kind of trouble there and people just want to hang out with their cars.
Most of my communications have been with some people from the 3Si forum and from our conversations there, as it sits right now, we should have at least 4 cars including mine. I want to double that number and I think that it won't be that hard.
So that's pretty much that. I'm not considering this just a meet-up though. Myself and a few others are going to be laying some ideas out for the expansion of the active 3/S enthusiast base here in Vegas. So if you're ready for something more, and much bigger, in Vegas, make sure you're there to put throw in your input too; it will be well received. Even if you just want to come along for the gathering, you're still more then welcome. I've already got some really interseting ideas that I think that a lot of people are hungry for so I'd like to present them to as many people as I can while getting as much feedback as I can.
Remember, Thursday July 27th, 8pm, In N Out on Sahara west of the I15."
