Hey guys... Yea I know I don't own a 3s anymore, but that's liable to change in 6 months or so. So this is for real this time. I'm looking to move to the area for... well because why the hell not?
I know the 3s crowd is cool nationwide, so I just figured I'd share my plans, see if anyone had some insight for me.
Looking to head out your way around December 9th-12th, probly stay on the strip, and drive the 335i out there. The idea is to find a job in the car buisness and find a good place to stay, secure both of those. Looking to make the move after the Holidays, right around the first of the year. I'll be looking to rent a room from someone in a house or condo preferably, in a nice area, $500-$600 max/mo. there's a ton on craigslist, but if there's anyone here with reccomendations, or room I'd be open.
Couple months into my stay I'll be selling the 335i and looking to pay cash for something, who knows what, maybe another 3s, always loved em, and at least I know how to work on them!! Gotta save some money.
So, that's the master plan. Any insight?

Hey! Welcome (soon) to Vegas. The only hint that i'd say to ya is if you are planning on staying at the strip, plan to fork over a lot of $$$ for the room. Besides Tropicana or the Stratosphere, prices will be at least $200/night and probably around $350/night for Fri, Sat. Dont stay at the previously mentioned hotels (Trop and Strato)- they are disgusting.

Hey welcome to Vegas. The 3s crowd is starting to pick up again. We had a few of us till, mine went down, Jessie's went down, Andrew and Dan sold theirs. Now we got some new blood.
HaHa! Cool. I'm staying on the strip for my 4 day trip. I'll be there from the 9th until the 13th of December. Staying at the Excalibur for about $55/night.
I think I've decided I want to sell a highline brand. So can you help me find Lexus, BMW, or Infiniti of Las Vegas? Which is probably the more popular luxury car in the area? Which has fewer local dealerships to compete with? Whch is better located to the strip?
I'd say theres more Lexus than BMW or infiniti, but theres a lot of each. I see quite a lot of Infiniti crossovers.
Out of curiousity, why do you want a dealership located close to the strip? Typically only locals are buying a car and most locals you'll find steer clear of the strip.

Good question. I guess the dealership doesn't need to be close to the strip, but I need to be able to live close to both the dealership and the strip. I'll be playing a lot of poker.
I see. Well talk to JeremyG and TiffanyG. They play a lot of poker as well (and are quite good at it.) They can let ya know where the good spots are. Just food for thought, they dont live next to the strip but head down there often. In fact, they are right down the street from me.

Well I suppose my definition of near the strip could be a lot different than other people's. What area do you live in? What's your proximity (driving time/miles?) to nearby landmarks?
Myself and JeremyG live in a neighborhood called Aliante. It is on the very north end of North Las Vegas. Typically NLV is not somewhere to hang out, but the very north end is all brand new all across Hwy 215 and its a very nice area.
From Aliante, it is 7mi. east to I-15, which i can take south and hit the strip in about 15-20min. I can also head west on the 215 from Aliante and jump on the 95 south and get down to the strip that way if I-15 has a bad accident. The strip is just south of the 95/I-15 intersection, which is commonly referred to locally as "the spaghetti bowl."
Aliante and nearby areas are out of the way of the strip and downtown (which believe me, is a VERY good thing) but has all the amenities you need nearby. Walmart, Costco, nice restraurants, Best Buy, Home Depot, you name it, its within 6mi.
Other nice areas are Summerlin (mostly the whole west part of Las Vegas) and the city of Henderson (pretty much LV's suburb to the SE) and Providence (neighborhood in the far NW area of NLV.) If you stray from these areas, you better be extra sure that its a good spot.
Hopefully that gives you some good ideas.
