And MY response for specific examples would have to be TrAb, started a post the other day called "Spotted an ugly stealth" and he made the comment

O my god it was a mexican guys car so it was ugly and riced out.
I guess I missed this one on Comedy Central as well.

I almost responded then, but I saw other people had seen it and felt that they shouldn't even dignify his commnet with a response and so I let it go. Now I can see that this type of thing appears to be a trend, so I decided to say something.

I deleted my response... because 1. I've never made a remark like that. 2. I know that these guys didn't mean anything by it. 3. Trying to lighten up the tension you brought to the thread really wasn't worth my time. 4. I didn't want this to become a thread where everyone trashes you on here.

It wasn't an email... I actually posted that after I read it. And deleted it. Like I said... it's not really worth my effort... because it doesn't involve me. Good luck though.

And now back to "All Georgia Members Check In".
(Just some friendly advise... seriously friendly... don't take this as a hostile remark... seriously: If it were me... I would have PM'd the person or persons making comments that offended you and resolved it off this thread. I totally understand that you were upset by the comment. I'm just saying that maybe resolving it off this thread would have been better. Then if he or she was negative back to you... you could do your copy and paste thingy that you do... and maybe start your own thread without hijacking the "All Georgia Members Check in". Just my 2 cents... friendly advise... but what do I know?)

The one thing I have noticed with the internet [AIM, message boards, emails, etc] is that you can never tell context because there's no expressed emotion beyond what you are left to interpret.

I agree that if it bothers you, let it be known ... this is a subject that leaves many people with a bad taste in their mouths. We are all brought together by one common denominator and lets remember that.

I agree... context gets killed on the interweb... it's the interweb's mutant ability.
If I got negative on here I'm sorry. All I was thinking about was that this is the first thing a lot of new members see when they log onto 3si (after we leave cards on their cars). I didn't want them to get the wrong idea about who we are. Maybe we should have some "editing" or "deleting" rules. Our own monitoring system. If someone gets offended by something, they can let someone know in a PM and it'll get edited out or deleted. I understand BlkWidow's view on this too... it's right there with mine. He also doesn't want new members to get the wrong idea about who we are either.

Alright... that's the last of my 2 cents... I'm broke...
(I'll delete my whole part of this discussion if it'll make the thread better... just let me know).

I read anti-semitic remarks and chalk it up to poor parenting Not shooting at anyone because we don't always think in whatever political correct terms there are, but we should just think a bit more b4 posting. Did you hear the one about the rabbi, the priest, and the minister.......

Listen Blkwidow when i made the post "spotted a ugly stealth" and said i looked like a mexicans car well, ITS CAUSE IT FUCKING WAS i pulled up to a shop to check it out and there were about 13 mexicans working in a shop, they were all speaking hispanic so i know they were mexican for sure. You are gonna end up offending a mexican by not ignolaging them in any of you cool posts...

This isn't a flame war thread. It's a thread to welcome new members. I understand if offenses were made on both sides, cause that's what it sounds like ... but maybe a PM would be better suit?

Can we just delete all the negativity from this thread? Put it someplace else. Someone start a new thread... and anyone that wants to discuss it further can discuss it in there. Mistakes were made... move on.

So...
Who wants to get the cars together in a couple weeks for a mini-meet? Cuz... my car should be back out there on the road?

Well, since Wed is off ... and Friday is on ... I would guess a beer & engine party Friday night. I'm assuming we will start as soon as that baby is anywhere NEAR your car, I have work on Saturday, and have to clean up every last small detail @ Lenox Park because that's the last day of my lease ... but maybe leave an open invite for the weekend?

I, for one, can't WAIT to see a running engine in that car The rest is just details!
