you're the ranking officer though Damon... I guess if I was going that title would go to me, but I haven't been able to stay as involved here as I'd like.

on the plus side I finally got a response from Aldi for my district manager application which says that it is currently being reviewed by the Batavia division, but it says "be patient this process can take a while", as I'm really banking on this job I'm still gonna pursue a store manager gig and other opps although $70k starting(which I'll get paid during 1yr of training) + full benefits + company car(Camry... yea it's boring, but it's a new car that costs me nothing) as well as a company that is based in Germany that I also love to shop at(and not ashamed to admit it ) is hard to not want to work for!!!

I still need to squeeze in the hours somehow. I can wake up early and work and we can head out by mid afternoon? or if we decide to group ride it, you can take off whenever you need to and we can catch up since we dont have to stay at 65mph.

yeah, that might work. here's what i'm thinking:

i drop my car off at travis's on sunday and load it on the trailer.

he and others can leave tuesday, noonish, and go at the slower pace. dave and i will take off in the afternoon in his car, at a faster pace. after a few hours dave will get a ticket, and i will switch to be driver. a few hours after that we meet up and we load the black car onto travis's trailer when everyone stops for dinner.

Just weighed my truck and figured out the pin weight of the trailer. And ran into a problem.
The truck is rated at 8800 lbs
The Truck + Me is 7300 lbs
The Pin weight of the trailer unloaded is right around 1000lbs
That leaves 500 lbs of weight that can be on the truck including passengers, etc.

My solution, sandbagging, literally
I'm going to build a little shelf area under the deck of the trailer at the rear and put sandbags back there until the weight drops enough that it wont be a big deal.

I wish you all the best and no tickets on your trip.

I am a bit jealous that I cannot go. New child and wife are stopping me from attending. I am hoping to come out to FarmFest to meet all of you instead of lurking on here.

Please take many pictures, if we need a hosting site for us, I have a few servers that can host no problems.

i think it might take a lot of sandbags to tilt 1000 lbs of pin weight back the other way.

how far back are the wheels on the trailer? i'm thinking maybe if we face both my car and dave's car towards the back, that'll minimize how much of the car weight ends up going through the truck. and put all of our luggage and tools in the front seats/floor of dave's car.

I've got 1000lbs of sand and it took about 400lbs off the pin. We will probably still need to face both cars backwards, but it just give us that much more weight.

Anyone have room for a passenger or guest at the hotel (i will sleep on the floor)? I saw Aatif last night and he convinced me to try and make it to ng, despite my 3Sness.

p.s. I will not murder you in your sleep.
