doest soud like a shifter problem, well maybe that little gromit (bushing) that Todd has replaced like three times on his! but it souds like the pins on the linkage might be off just a little i have read a little bit about this hapening, the pis that hold the likages to the control arms of teh tranny (shift levers i guess you could call them) were slightly coming out and it was makig the shiftig very rough. i would do a search for that im pretty sure it was a LOONG time ago that i read that though. good luck.

The shifting in my tt is really notchy. At first I thought it was my stock tranny. I started with my original shifter (which was very notchy), then went to a 3kgt short shifter (which was even worse). Then my output shaft stripped, and since I figured my synchros were shot, I bought a Kormex tranny. Now the Kormex has notchy shifting too.

I saw Jeff last week, and he checked the shifter linkage, which was smooth. (He suggested I try this out.) I'd like to check how the shifting feels with someone else's stock shifter -- preferably one that shifted smoothly in the first place.

Thanks.

I believe all the 3Ses especially the Twin Turbos are pretty notchy. I got the Focus SVT and the shifting I can pull off on that little car is unbelievable compared to the Twin Turbo. I hate the trannies that the 3Ses have. I wouldn't worry about the notchiness it's just the way the cars are. I think a lot of peeps would agree with me.

mine isnt notchy at all! hell ask a few of the guys who have tried it out! Ahmed said it was smoother than his tranny. Damon said it felt like it had less notchiness than other cars he's driven! for a 92 with only 77,000 miles on it i would say its in pretty good condition. there are other VR4's with Kormex trans in em and they are a little better than mine. i guess its all dependant on the car!

good luck. if that doest help ya you might have to double clutch IF your THAT worried about your shifting being notchie!

Hey dustin, you still got a list or website that gives information on them auto-x's and stuff. Or are you going anytime soon, maybe I could tag along in the Focus, I'd like to try this stuff out. I need a weekend racing thing to do for the winter.

I woundn't say "letting this die" however, I would say we were killed, with or without malicious intent (There are rumors as to nefareous sub-plots, I have no ideas, but at this point I discount nothing).

I know Alan tracks this thread, so I am standing by for his rejoinder, however, no matter how many times anyone regurgitates the argument of the need to limit database size, as long as this board supports 14 month old CRAP over in the lounge, this "data base size" argument continues to carry absolutely no weight with any thinking individuals, afterall, its not the size of your database, its what you do with it.

I don't profess to be a sysadmin, so I won't put forth any of the ways this whole situation could have been handled better, I'll leave that to Eric, who IS a sysadmin. So, given my lack of formal education in managing IT systems, let me reply in advance to the forthcoming "data base size" post:

Hey Jeff how much of a pain in the ass is it to remove our drive shaft on your own with only jacks and jackstands?

especially mine....did you have to disconnected it when you guys did the clutch or did you just drop it connected with the x-fer case?

i'm gonna replace my driveshaft this spring myself and i just want a heads up

thanks man
