eBay Motors: Mitsubishi 3000GT 6G72 Twin Turbo Engine Transmission (item 260232443286 end time Apr-27-08 15:23:03 PDT)

The japanese motor : ) I like how it has less than 50k on it : ) Due to the restrictions they have there. I can feel very comfortable with that. And I will use the turbos that come with that as well which is the 13g and comes with the ecu : ) And than I will sell the trans that comes with it, my ecu that i have now, and my motor to make some of the money back : ) I think Im gonna sell the trans and ecu and motor for only 1,000 I think thats a good deal if someone is tryn 2 do a conversion. But Im most def gonna need someones help lol. Tryn not to go very far either because Im goin 2 have to get towed there.

Everything I bolded is wrong or you shouldn't do...

The JDM has a speed limiter as far as I remember ( you will not want it on your car )

The stock turbos in japan are 9B's. Do not think for one second they are anything different.

I can help take that tranny off your hands, in fact if you need some help I've done an engine swap in my car(well pulled it, did the gaskets and put it back in) so far and we can negotiate it into the tranny price

it depends... some come w/ 13g's but it's if the original owner upgraded, they did not come with them stock...

as for the ECU... I believe the upper and lower intake plenums have different connections and you have to use the ones from your current engine and if your current ECU is ok then you might be able to find a buyer for the J-spec ECU for parts(might be able to net $50-100 for it)

you should be able to use your current ECU... Dave(Hexum on here, hasn't posted in a LONG time) got a J-spec when he spun a bearing on his 92 and put in DR500's and take me for a ride and let's say if there's a speed limiter on there, you couldn't tell when he was doing like 120 down Waukegan Rd... needless to say that was the ONLY time I rode in his car

so after thinkin 'bout Dave, I decided to do a search to see if he's been on here at all lately and it shows last activity in '04, so not sure if he sold the car or what, I know I met one of his buddies named Eric who happened to live around the block from me, he had a Focus and a 928... nice guy, but VERY crazy driver and sadly I didn't get to know him well as I wanna say around '03 or '04 I asked Dave about him and he told me he died in a car wreck....

EDIT: guess I met him back in Aug '01: http://www.3si.org/forum/f8/porsche-...56/#post309581

funny the things you can find in these archives....

with that in mind, hoping I can find some info on Dave as I became somewhat friends with him and he even gave me his old long-block that I was supposed to rebuild someday and 5yrs later it's still sitting on the side of my house and I'm hoping nothing bad happened to him....

also after searching some REALLY old posts(late 2000-early 2001) found some names that most of you probably never heard of such as Record9ti(aka Chip... in fact me and him had a very heated feud on here that pretty much led to about 3yrs of inactivity from me) or Schneidr80(aka Matt... he seemed kind of a knowledgeable and I helped hook him up w/ a girl once, but I guess he gave up on the platform and went to Supras and we never heard from him again).... there's quite a few others and I know Damon and Sanjay know the guys I just mentioned, just kind of a blast from the past....
