We did test the 02 simulator voltage and it does fluctuate. I still need that 0bd2 cable for that evoscan.

Ok, I really need a motor swap now My valves are bent and the price to get the valves fixed I rather put that toward a new motor, anyone here that has the time space to help me put it in? Meaning pretty much me watch and learn haha, I def dont think I can do that. Plus I dont have the space or tools 2 do it

always willing to help. will be graduated in ~3 weeks so i'll be back for awhile. have to pull an engine out of another car first but i should be able to get that done quick.

also have the tools but would prefer that you find a place and transport the hoist. my single car driveway doesnt take kindly to nonfunctinal cars.

If Dan is real busy, I can help you. If you have a full running motor to drop in, the swap is pretty easy...

Most running engines are 1000-1500 without turbos. Don't forget you'll have 100-200 in misc gaskets, parts, and things you'll need not to mention fluids. You're looking at almost 2k in total to get it fully changed out.

I feel I got a real good deal on things, and my red car has cost a little more than I projected. So depending on the deal you get it'll cost 1500-2000.

Rebuilding your heads is about 180 dollars a piece with new valves and seals, etc.. I had my rear rebuilt in granger and have had no issues.

THe liklihood is that your pistons are fine ( unless a valve dropped on one and made friends with it ) You could just get the heads rebuilt and do new head gaskets, plus timing stuff..

You'd only have to pay 500 or so then. It's totally up to you, and if you need help doing the work I can do it.

Labor would be a couple hundo to swap motors ( including swapping the tranny over, probably new clutch install, etc.. )

Feel free to ask us for help on what you should do.

plan on more than 200 for extra parts with a used engine.

i would do a 60k no matter what just to be safe so thats prob around ~400 after taxes.

pulling a front head with engine in car isnt too bad but pulling a rear head in car isnt worth it imo. if its the rear, pull the engine.

Matt out of curiousity, how did you clean the block top when that head was off? i assume you had the old style fiber composite head gaskets orignally and then got the mls mitsu ones. it usually takes me quite awhile to clean that fiber gasket off the block.

wait i think you pulled the engine out of the car anyway didnt you.

I definitely pulled the engine... I also had the MLS headgaskets on my motor... My car is a little odd, considering it got a new motor at 65k from mitsu directly as the lawyer who owned it previously got them to do it for free.. ( 11 pages of N/C for the list of engine parts )

I didn't have to clean much off, just used the scotch pads and got it so I couldn't feel anything on the top and it looked clean. Then used copper gasket spray on new MLS head gaskets, and bolted everything together. Oil looks good at every change, and seems the seal was perfect.

lucky you, those fiber ones suck

mls is so much easier

ive never used the copper spray and havent had issues but i guess i'll look into it next time. did mitsu reccomend it or did you just use it from others advice?

Yea I told my self that if it was gonna cost me more than 500 to fix these valves that I would go ahead and just get a new motor, becuz the previous owned didnt treat this one very nice : ( I think he lied abot the 60k since the belt broke within only 40,000 miles : ( SO I rather go ahead and just buy a whole new motor here is the link what I am getting.

eBay Motors: Mitsubishi 3000GT 6G72 Twin Turbo Engine Transmission (item 260232443286 end time Apr-27-08 15:23:03 PDT)

The japanese motor : ) I like how it has less than 50k on it : ) Due to the restrictions they have there. I can feel very comfortable with that. And I will use the turbos that come with that as well which is the 13g and comes with the ecu : ) And than I will sell the trans that comes with it, my ecu that i have now, and my motor to make some of the money back : ) I think Im gonna sell the trans and ecu and motor for only 1,000 I think thats a good deal if someone is tryn 2 do a conversion. But Im most def gonna need someones help lol. Tryn not to go very far either because Im goin 2 have to get towed there.
