Anyone heard from Jamie in the last week????

He seems to have dropped off the earth, or else doesn't want to talk about the yellow monster?

So my brother and I got the TT moved into the big garage yesterday. The car wasn't turning over before but I think it had just been sitting too long. We charged the battery and we could hear the starter straining to crank but it sounded like it was dying a slow death. All the lights inside were going totally dim as well. Solenoid must be good or it wouldn't even try so I'm guessing my starter is shot. We were tapping on it while trying just to make sure but no difference. So who had those starters laying around again???

Car sat for a long time prior, yes ?

Did you do an amp check on the battery with a voltometer before or after charging it ? If the lights inside were going dim while cranking, I would bet your battery is bad / shot, not your starter. Do an amp / voltage check with a voltometer first on the battery.

Isn't that why there are companies that make threaded inserts too or you can have the old hole welded up, redrilled and threaded.

I checked the battery but it was giving me a good 12+ and holding the charge. Even tried it with the charger attached on the start amperage. I need to take it out and bring it somewhere to get load-tested I guess.
