so i'm debating now whether to go back to stock fuel for a lil' while until I actually get bigger turbos... been running 450cc's and walbro pump for a while and gas mileage has been anywhere from 16-19mpg with a new low of 14mpg achieved last fillup with a lot of stop and go driving and putting the BOV back to open air.

Currently I have settings in the -27 to -30 range on the S-AFCII which I think is on the lean side for 450's, but obviously the low gas mileage and black smoke show that it's still rich.

So I guess what I'm trying to ask is:

Will I be ok running 15psi on 9b's and stock fuel?

I'm pretty sure I should be and should've just saved the upgraded fuel for a turbo upgrade since I'm sure I've paid enough for 13g's in extra gas by having a car that's not properly tuned and could probably use a good dyno tune w/ a wide-band as well as either an AEM ECU or GM MAF-T to keep everything in line since the AFCII is a piece of garbage....

Finally... anybody in the area got a set of 360's and a stock pump they're lookin to get rid of? I'm sure I can easily find those on the board but I figured I'd ask here first in case someone needs some beer money

Ha! you think the afcII is a piece of crap, wait till you try a MAF-T, just my personnal expeirence. For drag queens they are fine but for a daily driver that you dont wont to blow up, good luck with the constant tune shifts due to air temperature changes.

in my opinion you have a fuel pressure problem because your correction is way too much

Hey Dan, So it looks like the 15g's will cost around 700 bux for the rebuild ones from Markoverklock, or around 900ish for the 13t's. I dont have power tools so I have a feeling that the 13t's may be an issue to isntall. What you think?

no power tools mean no 13t install and their wastegate/water line setup really sucks

stick with the 15gs

Dan... so best bet is to try a fuel pressure gauge?

I figured it might be ECU, possibly bad caps, that the car is running rich despite lean settings on AFCII, but I'll check the fuel pressure, in fact the funny thing is I have a fuel pressure gauge new in the box that I bought a long time ago, but never installed.... i think it was a freebie that came w/ the DSBC.

if fuel pressure is the issue... wonder if replacing the fuel filter might help, I tried to replace it a few yrs ago but car wouldn't run w/ the new one, then put the old one back on and fired up right away... dunno if it was 'cause I got it at Pep Boys or what?

In fact I even marked the top of the bolts so that the holes would line up with the fuel lines, but I think that they're like the oil lines for the turbos where there's spacing b/w the bolts and housing so the holes don't have to line up....

For anyone interested, i'm heading to 'DA grove' this Sunday. If anyone wants to go, let me know. I'll probably bring a small grill and spend most the day there.
