yep, the emissions readiness tests, if they all have run and theres no light or codes stored then he's golden.

And i'd imagine the emmissions people see lots of loud cars, especially those ricers, and as long as the car passes the all the computer tests, technically everything is working fine and they'd have no reason to assume the cat wasn't there.

you know, now that they're no longer checking what's actually going on, it might be easier to start cheating emissions. as long as we have someone good with making basic circuits that can output a triggered voltage or switched frequency, we should be golden. *cough*eric/maddog*cough*

um if only it was that easy

obdII isnt just a series of triggered voltages and frequncies. theres also active tests that it can preform if the emissions computer doesnt like what it sees, i.e. make the car run rich for a sec and make sure the o2's cycle proprely, raise idle etc. also all the data the car stores like key cycles, total drive time etc needs to be accounted for. it in no way is a primative system that mear circuitry can defeat

I could always check it when I get home too.

Jamie, care to chime in here??
It has 2 bungs. They were left open when I went for emmissions testing and I still passed. There wasnt much exhaust leak noise, surprisingly.
