anyone going to byron on saturday? i'm going to try to get there around 10am before the crowds show up for the mustang/nissan day. i gotta get some practice in before NG.

POLICE. this ain't iowa, you can't just launch it everywhere. if i lived in champaign i'd be launching this thing everywhere.

just wait until you get a ticket for turning right on red while you're driving to get hot dogs.

That is a law in certain places.

I dont launch in Iowa because the cops are more anal out there. I'm not saying to go out on golf or busse but go west find an openish forest preserve road like my 135th.

stop in the middle of it and then launch. no reason to do it at a street light where others can see you.

you have to time it right too. wait for all the cars to go buy and then cacth up. stop and then go. your just lauching it doesnt take that long.

but yeah i got a ticket for turning right on red "when pedestrians are present". apparently there were magical invisible pedestrians that were walking around.

Fuck that intersection. There is clearly no danger in turning right on red there. The just put that sign to piss everyone off

Thats different. when theres 8 inches of snow and the cops drive around in malibu's and s10's they know they aint gonna cacth me. Also i watch out for bad stuff going down and move from place to place so its not so obvious.

in iowa a cop can take your license on the spot for 20 over. fuck that shit

Pete, if you come out by me there's plenty of long straight stretches of country roads. There's actually a place where I've seen streetbikes meet up to race. Great visibility, nothing really to hit, no side streets or places for cops to hide.

yeah, i can vouch that iowa cops are major D's. East Moline, IL (which isn't too far from iowa) cops are too...got a "drg racing" ticket from one of them. luckily got it reduced to wrckless drivng in court, but it still cost a pretty penny. oh well, it was worth keeping my license. i wasn't even racing anyone...some A-hole 5.0 mustang decided to see if he could keep up (not a chance)...supposedly since there were two of us they were able to attach the DR ticket.

you guys getting together at all this weekend for a chi-town cruise? i'll be in the city all weekend w/ the vr4 since its the only car i have right now...sold the daily driver.

also if anyone is interested in going out to the clubs on thurs. night, we'll be hitting up the spots after the sox v. yankees game.
