I was at the Glen, went to a movie. Stopped by "Flight"- I think it's called. I thought you guys might be there when I saw the 3KGT outside. Next time I'll check out Redstar.

Also saw a green VR4 Sunday night in Lombard on Roosevelt road.

And saw a white VR4 at Menards in Morton Grove on Saturday. Spring has sprung people.

Jackie- Thanks for the tip, I think? In English please, what does that set-up mean? Remember, mine's a daily driver.

I was slightly kidding when I mentioned that, lol. Its a coilover set with EDFC "Electronic Dampening Force Controller". Basically you have the coilover set which are adjustable and give excellent handling and control, then the EDFC is a interior control box that has a "motor" for each strut. The EDFC lets you control the strut's damper, meaning you can adjust the car's ride quality to soft or stiff from the interior, it is 16-way adjustable. Can be used for daily driving and the track . Its expensive, but your car will love you for it, and you will definitly love it too, lol.

Otherwise you could always just replace them with some KYB's (ECS equipped) and while you're there, you may as well get some upgraded springs (unless you already have them). I really recommend getting some aftermarket sway bars, way worth it and you will definitly feel a difference in the car's handling. I love my upgraded sway bars, they really made a huge difference and arent really too pricey either. The stock sway bars are so wimpy that you could prolly bend em' over your knee, lol

Ask Dave, Sanjay, or Andy.....they will all agree that my car loves to turn and does it quite well (and I'm not referring to the torque steer, lol. SL-TT FTW )

3sx sells the "Saner" sway bars for the TT, and they have the Tein w/ EDFC as well. If you did want the Tein coilovers, you can get it without the EDFC and still be able to adjust the damper, but that EDFC is way too cool to pass up, IMO. If you went and spent the cash on the Teins then you might as well the EDFC too

Happy Handling

Thank you...I just checked out the 3sx site and saw the smiling dude with the electronic brain box. Weird looking guy. Feeling little afraid. I do appreciate the explanation from you...I should upgrade.

And I will get new springs, I should have mentioned that.

I more or less have free use of an auto body shop/car repair place with two lifts. (I did some immigration work for the owner's uncle- got him a visa to the US). I just rotated my tires today using a lift! I mean, there I was, right next to the Ms. Rigid Tool calendar, working on my car. Very cool.

Jackie, did you swap out bushings or get new control arms? I'm thinking I may just go "new parts" crazy.

There have been clearance issues with these sway bars on most TT's / VR4's, having to do with the exhaust. I believe if you have an upgraded exhaust, they rub on it, having to be modified by grinding on either/or. Search on here to be sure though before you buy them for a TT / VR4, maybe there have been revisions to them since when I looked into them ( a year or so ago ).

As a sidenote, I have the Tein Flex Coilovers without the in-car controller. After playing with different settings and for weekend driving, I've left it at its softest setting because the other settings are WAY to rough for street use ( the car actually becomes bouncy to an extent too ), so my point is that having the EDFC may not be required by some people. I myself see no need for it since the manual adjusting is easy and wont be adjusting the settings much.

Jamie, you are a machine...that may be an option. I do like my kidneys, and I did hear that the firmest setting is more punishment than my old Jeep CJ-7.

I did not get new bushings or control arms, but they are definitly on the "to do" list. Lowering your car can throw off your camber a bit, so getting some new adjustable contol arms will do the trick to fix it.

As for what Jaime has mentioned, I haven't heard of that issue, but I also have Addco sway bars for the FWD, so I haven't looked into it personally. I didn't have that issue with mine even with the ATR exhaust, but the FWD's rear end is a LOT more roomier than the TT. I can see how this might possibly be an issue since space is limited with TT rear end. I'd call 3sx and see what they have to say. Let me know, Andy is interested in getting these as well.
Thanks

I can deffinatly say ride in a car with teins before you get them. I loved them on my car, but I can deffiantly see people hating them in their daily driver. They are 16 way adjustable, but that adjusts the dampening, not the spring rate.

The Ksport coilovers are an option as well. Pillowball mounts and full dampening adjustability for under a grand, check out supercar engineering, might be what I eventually go with.
