Royce,

Depending on how big the crack is... A lot of them can be fixed, rather than replace the windshield. Ask your insurance agent for a list of places - seriously...

I'm thinking about 800 ft/lbs would do me good... reeeal good.
I figure $1200 for the headers and downpipe (Gilbert's GB)
another $2000 for the turbo - still deciding on size and A/R
probably just drop the $1300 or so on an AEM EMS
$1000 for a front mount setup

That's most of the big stuff. I can do some of my own fabrication cause I'm cool like that, IC plumbing, driver side plenum, etc. I've just always been drawn to the big single. I've done the research, asked others' advice, I know the disadvantages, and still want to try it.

Nope, she's gonna stay an all-around street/strip racer.

800ft/lbs is going to be very very tough to get with a 3 liter engine. The only way I see you doing it is to use some n2o. Hell, Ray's 900hp car "only" makes around 600 without the giggle juice.

Where do you recommend I take my car to get a new windshield installed? Any estimates on a price would helpful as well. Thanks.

Call your insurance company first...you may have a no deductible windhsield replacement. I know I do.

I'm sorry, I was thinking HP and then typed torque.
I was figuring 800HP would equate to about 600 ft/lbs at the wheels. And I have no problem with spraying... probably just on the bottom to get the snail spooled.

I know there's a thermal transfer issue with the longer exhaust runners but the intake side will be shorter. Also, a single can move CFM more efficiently than the twins. I also like the versatility and ease of access to a single. You don't like the exhaust A/R? In 10 minutes the turbo is out of the car... how long to remove both front and rear turbos... 5 hours if you're reeeeally good? And everybody bitches about the lag on singles... well that's because most people that use them pick a BIG ASS TURBO. If you're gonna do it... do it big, right? My point is you could choose a quick spooling single just as easily... but if you're going to do that, just stick with a TD04 based system. I dunno, I've gotten into this discussion many times now. I figured I'd bounce it off you guys though.

... or I could just say f*ck it and have a child instead. But I figure that would be a helluva lot more expensive.

DOOO IT! But dont forget to upgrade the fuel $ystem.
BTW, you'll definately need forged internal$ to support 800 ft/lbs and look into the 102 mm one (GT4202R$). I'd try a GT55 just for the hell of it, 3L supra's see full spool right after 5000 rpm with those.

A GT40R or similar turbo should be good for that power range and should spool fairly quickly, I think. Thats gonna be a sweet car, good luck man!

Royce,

If Mopar Jeff or Sanjay's suggestions do not do the trick, and you need to replace...

Evanston Auto...847-475-4004 ask for Mike or Jack, if you need a replacement.

I hate when rocks attack. I have State Farm. I have that windshield thing Sanjay was mentioning with them.

I know that the insurance company would give me a listing of places to go to, I just wondered if anyone here would recommend a place that maybe gave a break to 3/S owners. I have State Farm as well, I'll have to check up on that windshield claim deal. I suppose if the crack gets any larger that's when I'll look into replacing it. thanks for the suggestions

Fuel... yes. Lot's of fuel. Enough fuel to bathe a neighborhood of nude Scandinavian bikini models in yummy C16 goodness. LOL!

I'm actually going to kill the stock block and internals first. Tweak, tune, track, and eventually trash the f*cker. Grab a J-spec 6G74, hope that one of the two stroker kits in development actually happen, and find out how a 4.5L with a GT42R runs...

Of course, at this point I'm just another a$$hole posting what he PLANS on doing. Talk is cheap, this sh*t ain't.

Still curious to hear everybody's thoughts, good or bad.
