Asshole? I’m hurt. Seriously. My ego is much more fragile than you may think. As I type this my self esteem has dropped 30%

Okay, I’m over it.

Tell Rochelle I said good shooting. Did she enjoy it? Or was she like okay, big deal, lets go shopping?

it was actually kinda funny she was flinching every time the guy who was to the left of us with his .338 and the guy who was to the right of us capped off a round... BUT she did good... i think it starteled her when the concussion from the other guns around us would move the little .223 all over.. lol

but when it came down to it she shot better than more than 1/2 the guys there some of these guys couldnt get the bullets into the red zone...

oh and she said and i quote her "yeah okay, big deal, can we go shopping now?"

im not kidding you... i think she had a good time just she needs to go when all the barny fifes are not at teh rifle range and its just me and her... and no big ass .338's going off next to her.

If anyone is looking at 5zigen fno1r-c wheels I have a set I am willing to get rid of fairly cheep. They are 17x9 and painted gloss black.Im thinking 600 for the set, or 700 with 2 good tires.

Not yet, I pulled a bunch of small stuff off the car, then the girlfriend came over and progress kinda stopped right there.

When did you want to pick it up?

I have the whole front end from a 98 VR4 with 18K miles on it. 1998 front bumper cover and 1998 Red Headlights. In great shape. Prefer not to ship front bumper cover. Also have clear corner turn signals.

325 for Front Bumper
425 for Headlights
65 for clear corners

Or I will do the whole package for 700 picked up.

You know that shotgun I was buying? Here's the saga...

I bought a Mossberg 500 tactical shotgun from a 3SI member months ago. I agreed to pay $220 for the gun, tactical grips, stock grips, and riot bags. It took him FOREVER to ship the gun and when it arrived at my FFL'd gun shop, they said the stock grips weren't sent. I called and asked him to send those and the riot bags... "yeah, yeah, I'll get right on it." I also delayed the process since I had lost my FOID and had to reapply for a replacement.

So I went to pick up the gun last weekend and I AM NOT HAPPY! Here's why:

1) The gun overall is in poor shape
2) The tactical butt is rotated clockwise about 5 degrees down the axis of the gun. Yeah, so the butt is not inline with the trigger.
3) The tactical butt looks like it had a belt sander taken to the bottom since there's a big chunk missing
4) Pumps have some play but the front pistol grip is crappy plastic and rotates almost 90 degrees
5) The ejector pin is stripped to all hell like it was locktite'd in and muscled out

So I did NOT sign for the gun. The guys at the shop said that if I got the stock grips, then I probably got a decent deal. If I can't get the grips out of the guy, I kinda got screwed. So I called the seller and told him I wasn't happy. I explained the condition of the gun and my frustration with it taking so long and his lack of communication. He told me he only fired 25 shots through it... he neglected to mention that he bought it from a police officer that had fired who knows how many. I told the seller that I agreed to a certain price for certain items and he had not sent all the items. I said that I wanted the stock grips sent or I would ship the gun back for a refund. Honestly, I'd rather just have my money back. He said he sold the gun because he's having money problems and doesn't have $200 laying around. So I asked about the grips and he said he lost them but he would go buy some and ship them to me on friday. I told him to CALL ME when he does. We'll see if I get a call. I'd like to ship him the gun but I'm worried I'll end up with no gun and no refund.

So how should I proceed? This is the FIRST gun I have ever bought and thus far it has not been a pleasant experience. Do I have any legal recourse or should I grab the lube, bend over, and wait...

There is no point going in to should have, would have, could have… Here is what you do (assuming he will not take the gun back and you don’t care)

#1 Find out what the grips cost and tell him to send you that money. If he “lost” the grips and needs to buy them, he won’t mind sending the cash. It’ll save him shipping too. If he won’t send you the money (see item #4)

#2 Have the gunsmith look it over and make sure it is safe to operate. If it is, cool, you got a POS shotgun that you don’t mind scratching. If it is not, see item #4.

#3 Take pictures of the gun and post it on the trade forums along with all your emails and give the guy a bad ratting like he deserves.

#4 I would contact the local authorities and see if you can charge him with fraud. I assume he shipped it from out of state, if so; there may be some federal laws involved.

At a minimum, it looks as though he committed fraud to take your hard earned money. I hate that crap.

What I would do is take pictures of the gun, have the gunsmith sign a letter describing the condition of the gun, go to the police with that and copies of all your correspondence with this guy and ask their advice.

1) Friday is Veteran's day. Thanks to Cameron and all who served. Make sure you are a registered voter and vote for people who look out for our vets.

2) Thinking of picking up a Rugar 10/.22 LR Can you guys recommend good ranges in the area? It's been years since I shot around here.

3) Will be driving to Little Rock, Arkansas next week. If anyone needs anything picked up by the Arkansas crowd (or dropped off) let me know.

4) Andy, I went to this range in Virginia a while back, then this freak with a .50 caliber Desert Eagle stars popping off rounds, and I swear the air got sucked outta the range every time he shot. Everyone else cleared out. Some guy brought his girl to shoot for the first time, and she ran out crying. That thing is unholy.

5) A buddy just bought Body Werks (the car wash) in Skokie. That would make a cool car photo- indoors.

6) Damon, think about going to gun shows over the winter, Indiana has lots of them. You can usually find (and inspect) just about anything.

7) If you don't know why November 11th is Veteran's Day, check it out, it is a cool story.

8) The director of this charity I work with saw me get in my car, then asked why I don't give more. Sometimes you can't win.
