Congrats on it. Surely we at Chicago 3si will have to be invited over to take a pic of all our cars lined up in front.

One thing I've always done with houses I've owned, it sounds corny, but get a small plastic "Roughneck" container (with lid) from Rubbermaid- an 18 gallon sized one will do...and a few file folders, and place every receipt, emergency contractor contact info, appliance information, and yes, even a "Captain's Log" of things you'll have done to the house (such as professional vent cleaning every few years) and keep it all in one place. I even kept the paint sample squares (with their name) in the roughneck so if years later I am wondering what color this wall was, I can get an exact match. I also keep insurance info, one year's worth of utility receipts, and of course a nice black and white photo of the day my house was built (1959).

You can track how energy effecient your house is by tracking bills, and it's sort of like keeping receipts for your car so if you sell, you get that much more. File, don't pile.

My buddy is my State Farm insurance guy, so he told me to take photos of possessions, as well as appliances and such, and store them on disk and in some cyberspace place.

This all seems like a lot of work, but really it is not once you have it organized, and if your washer goes out in two years, you'll know exactly where the paperwork is.

Right now you are either saying, "What a f**king loser", or you are saying, "Yeah, why not."

Anyhow, congrats. Nice looking crib.

The party is when?

shee-it...one of the advantages of living in the "boonies"

we've been pretty blessed and its been a lot of hard work. We'll throw something together (party) probably in the spring when we get all settled.
