that pretty much sums it up.. a brand new 2005 neon with the accelerator and the brake pedal switched... WHO would have thought... its a lemon...

i would seriously check into this guys driving record.. i betcha he has done this before... and wrecked other peoples cars
responces must slow down to an extreme level after the age of 75

i know where that intersection is Chip... i have seen some accidents there before... just not like that mostly just fender benders...

glad to hear everything is still intact

OK I gotta jump in here...Thankfully you are OK, hopefully so is the older driver. Other countries have skills tests, whereas in the USA, you take one test, get your license, and that's it for 70 years.

My German cousins have to get a driving review every few years to continue driving. My Lebanese and Australian cousins, same thing... Not so in the states. Here they wait for you to accumulate a few DUIs before they take away your license. 40,000 Americans die on the roads every year, over half because of alcohol.

I saw Paul Newman, at age 68, drive with such courtesy and attention and skill in killer traffic in D.C., I've also seen local 20 year olds not able to handle their car in a 3" snowstorm.

Always good to go "back to school" and learn new things, correct bad behavior, etc.

Those of you who rode motorcycles and took the Motorcycle Safety Foundation's expert riding course know of what I speak. I took that every two years and they always found a few things I was doing wrong, and helped me correct them.

It's not just age...OK, I'm done ranting. Everybody have a good weekend tonight, everybody wang chung tonight.

BTW- does anyone know how to use a riding trencher/ditch witch? I'm renting one tomorrow to dig a 4' deep trench for a water line and I'm pretty confident that I will maim / seriously injure myself / cause massive amounts of incidental damage. The ambulance is on speed dial but I was hoping someone might give me some tips to prolong the inevitable.

i have a belt that is starting to make a low noise. i'm planning on going to msd o5 next week. what belt might need to be replaced.

every once in awhile my rpms start to bounce up and down. what might be causing this

if my plugs or wires are bad would the idle on the car run low.

If any of you local guys wants the SBC iD let me know...the drivers door actually was punctured by the car that hit me and parts of his car came into mine. He was 82 years old, blind in one eye and mostly deaf...claimed that his new (one week old) 2005 Neon was defective and sped up instead of braking...so, off the the hospital I go....
sorry about what happened, though i dont know you im glad to know that your ~ok. im amazed at how you appear so calm about all this. some people these days are just dangerously ignorant while driving. i agree, something should be done about people like that, i mean damn he was deaf AND half blind.. what? does he have a grandchild working at the DMV or somethin?? the pictures are really painful to look at though.. its like seeing my own car. my brother and i have a white 97 too .

So i was driving yesterday on 90/94 east heading south towards downtown approaching the Montrose overpass, right before the irving park and keeler exit. traffic was real heavy but was moving pretty fast at about 65-ish i was in the right most lane and all the sudden i see this big rock probably 4 inches in diameter a foot away from my windshield... WHAAAM! the whole winshield bends in and then back out. the semi in front of me swerves out of the lane because hes getting hit by rocks also, but then his smartass just keeps on driving like nothing happened. there were cars all around me i was boxed in and couldnt switch or anything, it was raining rocks on me. two more hit my number plate and headlight but they werent too big. so now i have a broken / craked windshield a minor dent on the front bumber (behing the number plate holder) and a deep scratch in the passenger side front headlight. thank god i didnt panic cause when it hit, it was LOUD. the worst part is that i went to look at what was up on that overpass and... nothing. there WAS however a really good opening in the side railing/fence (whatever ya call it) to throw rocks off of and it was right above the lane i was in. goddamn rock throwing BASTARDS!!

two 97's in one day...

1) Did you call JULIE? They mark out areas to make sure you don't rip open a gas line. If you do, just act cool.

2) Sometimes the rental clown will give you low quality advice, and you go from there.

3) Are you a religous man?...

Well guys, I drove my first suspect car today...a 2003 Midnight blue Porsche 911 Turbo - has graphite leather (full leather package dash included)...CD changer, 18" 2 piece Porsche wheels and 4,800 miles on it....

Driving a 2005 S4 in the AM that is new and the dealership wants it gone, same dealer ship has a new 2004 CLK 55 sedan that was $74 that they want $59 for...that may be a thought too....AMG....yummy
