does the shop work on a 5-spd tt trannies? cuz technically they cant so some shops wont but others will. on the other hand any shop can work on 5-spd non-turbo trannies. this is mainly because of parts and the lack of a rebuild manual that they know about. we can only really get tt trans parts from crs and currently it doesnt look so good for us 1st gens but you should be fine. just saying there is a difference between the trannies and pays to know the difference when you pull them apart.

if you feel the shop is good and others agree you can try them otherwise i'll give myself a shot in the arm cuz i have a good record with rebuilding our trannies. u can ask daveslow and tsunami. i also have the best prices

good luck
Dan Dillon

Dan thanks for the info - Do you have a shop or do you work on trans on the side? Where are you located?

So...the car is totalled..no question. All the rims are destroyed...passanger side front rim about exploded...trans fluid was all over the ground so I presume that is broken too...engine has just under 20k on it since Moparjim and Jeff installed it.

If any of you local guys wants the SBC iD let me know...the drivers door actually was punctured by the car that hit me and parts of his car came into mine. He was 82 years old, blind in one eye and mostly deaf...claimed that his new (one week old) 2005 Neon was defective and sped up instead of braking...so, off the the hospital I go....
