I used to do brakes on my Jeep, and I wouldn't have to drain the system or anything, I'd just compress the cylinders, install new pads (machine rotors if necessary)...and off I went. Is it any different on the VR4?

Thanks for all the help/info guys.

Jeremy had a good write up on the 316 site...it is pretty straight forward. I've owned Jeeps and it is pretty much the same thing. You'll need a "C" -clamp to push the piston in, as well as the anti-squeal like-a-pig compound because our brakes need it.

If you are just swaping rotors and pads it should take no more than an hour. Speedbleeders and new brake lines COULD take a while depending on how stuck the lines are. Mopar Jeff had to use a blow torch (the Chicago way) on one of my lines. Also, bleeding them takes a while.

Let me know if you need a hand. If you need help Sunday between 10 am (after Church...I'm on God's shit list) and before 4 pm, let me know, I'll help. Just did my brakes a couple of months ago.

Thanks for the offer, I really appreciate it. It's great how this community works. Unfortunately I'm busy untill about 7/8pm on Sunday. I ended up buying the Rotors off Dave. I really want the slotted rotors, and good pads, but for now...I'm just patching it back together. So, I'm gonna get them cut, buy some pads, and he offered to give me a hand on Sunday evening. You're welcome to stop by and hang...but I know it's kinda late. I just have to stop that Metal Grinding.

Luke

Probably because I was driving my Explorer since the car is broken. Hopefully will be fixed on Monday.

2) Yep. I had just bought and installed them before I sent the car to Matt back in May when it was just BPU. Not sure how they are going to hold up . . for track use, I'm going to guess that they will be fine. But for prolonged use, like on the street, I'm not going to be surprised if they heat soak quick. We'll see. As far as boost goes, I will be running upper 20's / lower 30's on 100/104 octane.
wow, im happy for ya. hope everything works out and we have a local 10 second car by spring.

let us know when you're headding up to GLD.
