Luke,
i have the stillen pads they are awesome, i also have Race concept rotors which i got a great deal thruu Ro on them but now the guy doesnt do tahht anymore.. but he still has descent prices i think 160 for either the front set or the rear set so $320-360 all around but you will get slotted, dimpled or crossdrilled, and cryo-treated for that much not bad if you ask me

Supercar Engineering in MI has Axxis Metal Masters, Carbotech, and Porterfield pads.
Any of those would be a good choice. I use the Porterfield R4S on the Diamante and GSX. I've used metal masters in the past.

How much do you want for them, what do you consider dirt cheap ;-) ? I found some new ones at Pep boys for $33 - not too bad. Are yours at home in C.S. ...can I just pick them up from your folks? Can I just take them - actually I just need one - and if mine is still fine, I can return them to you. Just weighing my options...even though slotted does sound nice ;-)

I believe there are at least 3 people on this thread that would be interested in a full set of slotted rotors, pads, and SS lines. Maybe we can convince IPO or 3SX to give us a mini-group buy? Anyone up for a grouplette buy? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Luke,

Always replace both rotors at a time...don't just replace one of the front rotors...that's being penny wise and dollar foolish. Also, if you can afford it, think about braided brake lines AND speedbleeders.

Yeah, I should do that, I just need to get rid of the metal on metal grinding - NOW. I would want to upgrade to Slotted or Drilled, but I don't have time for that right now. I just want to get it running. I do have speed bleeders, just not installed yet. How much do braided lines go for about?

I used to do brakes on my Jeep, and I wouldn't have to drain the system or anything, I'd just compress the cylinders, install new pads (machine rotors if necessary)...and off I went. Is it any different on the VR4?

Thanks for all the help/info guys.

Luke
