Well I decided to stretch the legs out on the car a bit on Saturday, make sure it's still running alright, and as I proceeded to do so an officer of the law came around a curve from the opposite direction. I hammered the brakes but it was too late and passed him still speeding. Looked in the rear view and saw his brake lights light up as I was heading into the curve he just came out of. I was lucky I had a friend you lived close by said curve, so I ducked into his subdivision and hustled to get to his house while constantly checking my mirrors for the flashing lights. Got to my friends house and convinced him quickly that I need to put my car in his garage and close the door. Thankfully it went off without a hitch and I didn't see any police patrolling the neighborhood, so he definetly didn't see me duck in to the subdivision, however I waited until it got very dark before leaving to head home.

Moral of the story - keep the high speed stuff for the track, cause it's not worth the possibility of jail time

Well Greg, if I wind up at a trial for your crime, I hope Marisa Tomei gets up on the stand as an expert witness to state that it could not have been MY pearl yellow baby because of posi traction or something. I'd probably wind up violated in prison, though.

By the way, I went on a few ride-a-longs with 5-0 last year and learned a few things. With the computers police cruisers have now, they run your plate, pull up your picture, and can even tell not only the last time you had a ticket, but also the last time another police officer (even in other cities) ran your info. Kind of like a credit score for a mortgage.

What about when you are run by a County Sherriff ( Lake, Cook, etc ) or an Illinois State cop, does that show up also ?
