And no, its not a joke. What are the chances of a guy moving in next door to me with the same year and color as my car ! . . . . he also has a home in Glenview. So, we have Greg, my neighbor Jim, and me, all with pearl yellow RT/TT's all within a few miles of one another. . . . so much for being exclusive. ![]()

figured out why my battery kept dying. in certain rain and wind conditons water would find its way under the plastic hood blister and then proceed to drip onto my pos battery terminal. in such a way that it would cause the battery to arc and short out. so now theres nice burn marks under my hood and metal missing from it from all the arcing. fucking iowa!
on figuring this out and getting her running i proceeded to lay a squirlly 60ft patch ![]()

first of all get rid of your potato clock battery for starters or lemon juice and iron bars if napa sold u the higher end version. i know u southerners
does ur battery hold a charge to begin with? how long does it? use a test light to see if there is a drain somewhere. close all doors and make sure no interior lights are on. then pull the pos battery wire and connect a test light between the two. if it lights then something is drawing power. see how long it stays lit. if its just a min thats fine but if it keeps going u have a fun mitsubishi electrical problem. p.s. when my batt died the first time out here my pop up head lights didnt work, nor the rear defogger, or the windshield wipers, and the alarm. that was fucking fun |

IronMan - again?

I had that too...what you need to do is take off the door panel and you can get at the lock from the inside (dont bother trying to take off the handle. Get out your WD40 and spray the cylinder inside from the keyhole, and also all over the cylinder from inside the door frame - couple rinses you will be good as new. I would then use lock oil you can get at Walmart or where ever to lube the lock..all in all 30 minutes.

that sounds pretty bad, i hope whatever went bad gets fixed without too many hassles. kinda off topic: i've noticed that these cars have a way of testing the patience within us.. they break just enough so they're not completely beyond repair and then they perform just good enough to make us want to keep and fix them forever. ![]() - Syed Last edited by 1500awhp : 10-02-2005 at 12:00 AM. |
