My sister-in-law has a '95 Mustang V-6 that's overheating. She took it to a shop and they said it was the heater core and would cost $418 to fix (replace?). Does that sound about right?

A long time ago, I had the heater core fixed in my GFs Escort, it was over 500... so unfortunately, that does sound about right.

Wow, the heater core in my truck was $18 at napa.

The 17G turbos are a hybrid made by TEC, IPO had them on his car and skywalker has them on his.

Ro, where are you going to get those spools from? I may be needing a set as well.

This is my list for the year...what am I missing?

Turbos (most certainly 15G's)
Injectors
AFC
EGT

So does Ahmed.

17G's have let many people here on this site down, though Ahmed and Skywalker may be happy with theirs. GT357's and 17G's are similar, and both of them do not have great track records here on this site, no pun intended.

I dunno jeff Anti-seize works well on the o2's cause they come from the factory with them and they come right off (my front one came off with no problems during the tuning session when we put the wideband o2 in there.

I havent tried the craftsman bolt out yet...my gf picked me up a set this morning on the way over to my parents house (thats where the pig is at right now)

nice looking piece.....high carbon steel....wicked looking teeth that;ll dig into that rounded son of a bitch.

i'm gonna order a set of Metrinch or Stanley Maxi-drive sockets now ..rather turn the nuts/bolts from the flat sides rather than the points

Ahmed has GT357's not 17G's....I believe IPO had some pretty decent runs with his 17G's. I can't remember what his times were, but I want to say low 11's....but not 100% positive

You may also want to think about:

MAF-T; I hear a lot of guys are having good luck with them
EK2 fuel rail connector hard pipe
Hotwiring the upgraded fuel pump

nah cool not trying to argue.....just frustrated as hell with the car....the o2's came off nice and easy when we did the tuning on thursday so i guess it just depends on how long the item is exposed to heat and all that jazz.

its all good

i'm gonna take the opportunity to anti-seize everything just in case and replace as many bolts and nuts with new ones while im at it.

this damn car is gonna drive me nuts...

oh well...she'll be up and running soon....

I stand corrected

heh . . Ahmed told me 17G's back when I first met him . . maybe he though I wouldnt know what 357's were at that time

yeah, IPO has had some good runs/times with 17G's . . . dont know of anyone else though that has gotten into the 11's with them, that posts here on this site anyway . . Bill had terrible luck/issues with his 357's, and that was quite common with other 357 owners on this board.

Not meaning to disrespect or bash any particular turbo, or any owner of a particular turbo, just sharing my opinions based on info gathered right here on this site
