A. They filter great, but to do this, they have an incredably small pore size, giving you one hellacious pressure drop (God-for-freakin'-bid oil starving your turbos) I also think their own literature recommends against using them in racing applications

B. They are about twice the price of a Pure1.

If you are interested in trying it, I think I have an extra gallon of Series 2000 0W30 under my kitchen sink.

Well I decided i'm picking up a set of ported and clipped TD04L-15g's to replace the Dr650's

I can get the dr650's rebuilt for about the same price as the 15g's but i rather just have fresh and new turbos instead of remanufactuered ones nothing personal with DR just a money thing.

Nik did u get yours from Vr4Me and how much did u pay?

Ported and Clipped 15g's should perform better than non clipped 15g's as they arent as restrictive on the exhaust side.

Trevor's dyno charts show that there was minimal gains by raising his boost past 17psi on non clipped 15g's

Dr650's made more power then the 15g's but they're also ported and clipped
the cliped and ported 15g's should be pretty damn close to the dr650's

but the 15g's will deffinitly give me 11's especially with the tuning help ive been getting.

so yeah........thats the plan for the pig

a) good to know, thanks. I didnt see the racing application non-recommendation. I'll stick with a Mobile 1 or the factory Mitsu oil filter then.

c) I was going to do the HP Series 2000 20w50 in the Stealth . . my engine /heads/current turbo's are somewhat fresh ( < 10,000 miles ), and I dont drive it year round. I've got 15w50 Super Syn Mobile 1 in it right now, and it sits in a heated garage. I was going to run the normal syn 5w30 in my other car & truck, and HD syn 15w-40 Marine in the boat . . sound about right ?

20W50 is awfull damn thick, and the oil line is awfull damn small, your line losses would be significantly higher with a thicker oil. The Series 2000 worked great in the NA because you don't beat the shit out of the oil the way you do in a turbo, so you can get 15 to 25k between changes easily (they actually recommend longer).

Amsoil has a specially formulated turbo oil, product code is "ATM" its 10W30, and thats what I am currently using in the TT, they recommend only tripple the manufacturers interval, but I am going to stick with about 7k tops.

Good desision Ro. Like we talked on the phone, I got them from VR4ME. I paid $1750 for brand new ported and cliped 15G's SHIPED cause I sent him a cashiers check insted of paypal. Theis are the ones with the bigger tdo4l (13G) housing (meaning built the right way ). Having sold my old turbos and having Jeff install them I got great turbos installed the right way, the M3 way(or was it 3M) for a VERY good price. I was looking at DR's turbos then but it just ened up beng to much money and you had to give him your stockers.

Oh my fucking god i'm gonna set this car on fire and piss on the ashes

Rear turbo wont come out...........reason........the two 14mm nuts on the back turbo that you can get to from the bottom are seized on

one is now rounded .fuck fuck fuck

I'm picking up a set of Craftsman Bolt outs......if that cant get that rounded nut off..nothing will.

I'm also going to order a set of Metrinch sockets. THese sockets grab the walls of the nuts/bolts instead of the corners and apply more torque without the fear of rounding or slipping.

dammit....argh..

Guys........whenever you work on any fasteners that are going to be subjected to heat.......USE ANTI-SEIZE!!!!!!!!!!!

God i'll donate a bottle if it'll make life easier for the next guy...it'll make life sooo much easier
USE ANTI-SEIZE!!!!

The fact that a 2 cent bolt is making my life hell right now makes me want to sell this fucking car.......im serious...first 23K would probably get this car with a brand new set of 15g's and tuned ready to rock.

I'm so sick of this fucking thing right now.

argh!

The body kit is by Kaze... pretty much impossible to get in the U.S. Call Brian @ GTPRO is my best advice.
