KayJay, there is no such thing as a RELIABLE VR4! learn that now it will save you a headache later...
as far as how much your looking to get a 97-99 VR4 with low miles (under 50k) youre looking around $20,000 easy.. if you find one with higher miles you might get it for lower... now for all those punk asses who are gonna say 20k are you nuts.. i said AROUND, and i use that as a high estimate so you wont be surprised when he finds out what they cost
good luck...

and there is no such thing as a sniper BB gun... very inaccurate now pellet guns are better, the one i have is about 900 fps and its damn accurate it has a riffled barrel... but i wouldnt use it for Squirels... now mayeb ground squirels and chipmunks and crows but not Squirels it will take a few bb's or Pellets to knock a Squirel out

Thank you gents for the advice. I can't believe the amount of info you guys have. Andy, I'd swear you were a real sniper/hitman based on your advice. I will start calling you "Mr. Smith", or Mr. "Name a color" after the hitmen in Reservoir Dogs (Everybody wants to be Mr. Black...)

I'm gonna stop by the Home Despot tonight and pick up two traps. Tomorrow morning, I will search for a bolt action .22 cal. I had no idea the noise would be less than a semi-auto...the stuff you learn.

My brother just got back from Iraq. He's an Air Force pilot but still must carry a sidearm. He does not know about sounds on semi-autos vs. bolt action. His response was, "Drop the bomb on them". Not sure if he understands I live in my house...

yup think about it this way the semi is chambering a new roundl as soon as the old round has left teh barrel... its opening the firing chamber... now as far as how quiet the one you get might be different from how quiet the one i have is... the one i have is damn quiet, and my friends is noisy as hell and his is semi, mine is bolt action... they have em at walmart but they are around 150$ new... i would sugest going to your local gun store (GAT guns or Bass Proshops or Cabellas) and see what they have to offer in the way of USED .22 bolt action... also the lever action ones will work the same way... and they look cool too! http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=3138494
I have done my share of Sniping stuff .... also make sure you search for subsonic rounds.. they are a little harder to come by but im sure you can order them online if you have your FOI card...

Thanks for the link...these are inexpensive. I will pick one up in the next few days and nail these squirrels (rats with good public relations). There is a lot of street resurfacing and ground breaking (old gasoline tanks getting dug up) within two blocks of my house. This should mask noise as street repair is very loud.

I'll look for subsonic rounds...but time is a key factor. These squirrels are like the Terminator version #2. They are self aware and have learning processors. I swear one of them ran DOWN the tree and got to within 2 feet of my head this morning. I thought he was gonna jump on my head and take my eyes out. He was hissing at me. I cut the branches back from three trees that were close to my house. They were not happy.

SO i finally got exhaust and downpipe done after what...3 years?! Man I was gonna do dual N1 ripoffs but Iggy's said the passenger side can wouldn't fit. So I did one. Pictures will soon follow. I'm on my way to finishing the car and getting it ready for the gathering. MSD is sitting in my garage and Zex wet kit is awaiting too. Got the radio trim from SmokinVR4 after like three months so i'll have a panel to put buttons on. I'm so excited. 3" cat back and 3" ebay downpipe LOVE it. It's beastly!

as far as teh press is concerned.. MOST any machine shop should be able to do that for you. i think there are a few places around... might try a transmission shop and ask them who they would normally use!

Call this guy Stewart up at clutch masters and ask him where he would have it done
847-658-1900 tell him you already have it out just need teh shaft taken out and new one pressed in!
thanks for the suggestion, Stewart is gonna be resurfacing my flywheel and as soon as the shaft and spool arrive I will be taking it to him. He said he might have some tools to get it out. The funny part is when I dropped off my flywheel there was another 3/S in there with a snapped O/S lol. Stewart said they were trying to convert his drivetrain over to a 25 spline one.
