1) We usually go up to Great Lakes Dragway in Union Grove, WI.
2) Greg has YET to open up the "Flying Banana" at the track. Maybe he'll finally take off his panties and see what that car can do. 3) Andy drinks like a 4 year old schoolgirl. If I drank a 40 and belched he'd get drunk off the fumes. 4) I'm really hungry... anybody got a sandwich? - that is all -

Never enough BOOST!
|
I've used the Search feature and researched this issue extensively:
Okay guys....here's what's been happening: For years I was running around in the vr4 with a leaky rear turbo return line. We fixed it with a brand new Mitsu. OEM return line when we installed the 3sx motor mounts. So obviously I was driving around with an "unsealed" motor before we fixed that return line. I had no bluish smoke from tailpipes between shifts or oil spewing out of the oil cap or diptick before we fixed that return line. Ever since then we fixed that rear turbo return line: And ever since I get the following symptoms: 1) oil leaking out of oil cap and spewing oil everywhere 2) oil dipstick popping out and spewing oil everywhere 3) bluish smoke coming out of tailpipes between shifts after a high boost run (after car is warmed up. No oil bluish smoke occurs from tailpipes between shifts when car is cold) So over the last 8 months, here's what's been done (one step at a time) to help diagnose and cure my problems: new oil cap ; didn't work so added another rubber gasket in the new oil cap; new dipstick and crimped the dipstick oil tube to make a firmer seal. problem still there. Installed Band New Krankvents; didn't work. Tried with new pcv as well as switching to a gutted pcv. still didn't work; oil problem still there. Double checked to see if Krankvents were installed backwards, they were definitely installed correct. Checked all hoses to see if there was any accumulation of sludge/dirt/oil/etc. within the hose lines (even the one between the front and rear valve covers). problem is still there. So I'm thinking, "Now that my engine is all "sealed" up with no leaks; damn, I may have internal engine problems?" with all this blow by. So we did a dry compression test; showed good healthy #'s. from 145 - 150 psi across all banks. So we then did a leak down test; showed a 1% variance across all banks; which proves the motor is quite healthy even with 113K miles!! ;-) Recently we removed the Krankvents and installed catch cans in hopes of curing my issues. Kept the gutted pcv on; oil problem still there. I wonder if I should try the new stock pcv? will try, but doubt it'll work since I tried in the past w/ the Krankvents with no luck. before we fixed that damn leaking rear turbo return line; the car ran extremely well and healthy with absolutely no smoke or oil spewing everywhere from the dipstick and oil cap (from too much pressure). We're running out of ideas on what to check next. Are we missing something here? Help!! So any ideas? Could a faulty oil pump be the cause of my issues? I doubt it...but thought I'd inquire. thanks in advance for any other suggestions, guys. And sorry for the long post, but I thought I should be as detailed as possible.
