Ok, So I've come across a problem with my car. My car was driving fine and running great when I left it at home for the winter. That was 2 weeks ago. The car hadn't been started since I dropped it off so I called my parents and told em to start it. The car won't start at all right now. It doesn't even crank. I had my friend try it to no avail either. The fuel pump does work, He did hear that start up when he turned the key. However the car still won't start cranking. All power features are working as well. Does anyone have any input? I'd like to try and collect a bunch of ideas and test them out when I go home for the Gathering.
What would cause my car to not crank from sitting for 2 weeks? P.S Security Light isn't blinking either like it was last time when the alarm system went ape shit on me. -Dave |

From what I remember your battery has 2 leads off of it, one goes to all the accesserys inside your car and the other goes to the starter and alt. My friends was loose and he has the exaclt same problem, but moving the batt cables around would fixd it temporarily.

I'll give the battery a shot. The battery is brand new. I just replaced it over the summer as my other died on me. Any other possibilities as to why it won't crank? Possible Clutch engagment wire screwy? something frozen?
What bewilders me is the car ran fine with no problems and now after sittin fow 2 weeks it won't start. After I parked the car in my garage I had my dad practice starting the car a few times so that he could start it for me once a week. That went well and the car started then. The first time he tried to start the car a week and a half later it became a no-go. Dave |

If everything else works as normal, then the battery is fine. I would suggest checking the smaller of the leads from the battery(goes under/around intake filter) for stiffness or cracks. Eric and I ran into this problem on his car and it ended up being that wire having a loose connection. There also may be an inline fusible link on that line which could have a bad connection also. Not sure on that if someone else could elaborate. Also check the Starter Ground for corrosion.
