Heres a tech question....
Engine runs like shit, will TRY to start, sputter then stop, as if it has a SERIOUS boost/vacuum leak or like the timing is screwed. But the timing is dead nuts on, and the leak tester came out negative. Crank Angle Sensor is new... If the Cam Angle Sensor fails intermittantly will it screw up your timing WITHOUT throwing a code? Any thoughts?

Im pretty sure you only have a cam or a crank angle sensor, not both. Cam on 91-92 and crank on 93+.
Just throwing out ideas, did you check all your safc settings, check spark, maybe pull some plugs to make sure your getting fuel. |

Water in gas...that may have been my prob. When it would try to start, I had to give it gas and get the revs up to keep it going. Took it on 1/2 hour drive to get it out of the system, worked for me. Probably not the same thing...but can't hurt.

OK, maybe I wasn't clear...
If the Cam Angle Sensor fails intermittantly will it screw up your timing WITHOUT throwing a code? (ie, spark and or fuel at the wrong time) While I appreciate the assistance that has been offored, none of it answers that simple question. My problem is a timing event - end of question Anyone else have any ideas. |
