Thank you guys for the reference and kind words earlier. I wasn't able to take a look at Leo's ECU due to time issues but hopefully he'll be able to install the caps himself or make it back here when we both have more time.

If you advanced it in the process of setting the base timing to 5 BTDC you could have increased the idle speed. You need to ground the check timing connector again and also ground pin 10 on the DLC to reset the base idle speed with the BISS.
Do 3S's idle surge like DSM's do when the idle is too high? If they do I'd double check and make sure your IPS is set right too. Since it's the IPS that tells the ECU that the engine is idling. (My stealth hasn't had any idle problems so I don't know if they surge) Steve |
