Nik

Tiffany contacted me about this already
I guess i can talk about it now.

We need to register as a chapter. We can organize a Northern IL group (but we'll still be called the chicago crew) since we have so many people spread out in Nothern IL like in the city and out to rockford.

I'm putting together an email and organizational shit. And i need to contact Eric and set something up on his forum.

I'll keep ya'll updated, if ya'll dont want me to be the "guy in charge" or whatever thats cool and we can vote on it or what not. I wouldnt feel bad about it but I'm pretty involved for the last few years. If not me i think sanjay should take the reigns
but if ya'll want me to take care of business thats cool.

Anyways...i've been in court all week so i'll get something out or put together by sometime next week.

oh and Todd, the spare tire has been used before. honestly if you want it you can have it.....yours for a beer at the NG if you go

Ro, thanks for the offer of the spare. Hopefully it looks better than mine. It's been used a little too much like when I've had bent wheels in for repair. I had to use it again just a couple of weeks ago, but I was in a parking facility near O'Hare and the spare was in my garage in Oak Lawn. Had to call the wife to bring it to me. I had parked my car there for about a week while I was in New Hampshire for business (while the primary hoopla was going on and wore my GOP hat everywhere ) and when I got back to Chicago (about an hour and a half late due to delays into O'Hare because of the extreme cold) and got to my car, the right rear was dead flat. The extreme cold cause the rubber to not seal around a balancing weight on the rim. My spare is now mostly bald from use over the years, so a better one would be good for me. So next time you're in the area, or if I happen to take a drive to Omaha before then and can meet you in Death Moans, IA, I'll take it off your hands and definately be happy to buy you a few beers, and I'd even spring for the good stuff, depending on how much tread your spare has.

I was going to offer my services as Chapter President, but I would require dues of $100/month from each member. Ro would be exempt because of his generous offer of the spare. So as soon as I start getting some checks (and they clear) I'll announce my presidency.

You might want to contact him to double check your settings. I believe Ro is also using this setup.

yeah i have a call into Ro but he doesnt answer his voicemail....
however I am thinking Sanjay was correct and im running more rich. but beforer i installed teh MAFT the car had slight or faint fuel oders every now and then. so does that mean i was rich before also and now im REALLY frigin rich? and woudl teh change in temperature have anything to do with the fuel GETTING RICHER? or is that something that wouldnt happen?

i am pretty confident that Sanjay is right....

Hey guys... anyone here have a car that they think would be able to compete in a big indoor car show?

The CAVALCADE OF WHEELS << LINK is in South Bend in late March. I believe my car will be in it.

It's only $35 to enter. There are usually a few hundred cars there, all types from street rods to imports. In 2002 when my paint was new I won 3rd in the import class. My car is in for a new paintjob now so it should look pretty good.

Anyway I could look into getting a few spots together.

Lemme know ASAP, though... we need to sign up in the next week!

I hope you are joking.

In 2002 I paid for my own paint job because when I bought my car it had been in an accident. I factored in the paint job in the cost of the car. BTW the paintjob was done in FEBRUARY 2002, long before any NG money came in.

This year it's being repainted by insurance since a couple weeks ago it got KEYED bad enough that it needs an entire repaint.

If you aren't joking then I'd like to say I don't appreciate the accusation that I have profited from the NG. Because I haven't. Even after the SPONSORS themselves said that I'm stupid for not keeping some for myself. Even after Tiff and I each spend at least 10-15 hours PER WEEK on average planning it. More like 20-25 per week each in the few weeks prior. And we've been planning since October. Hell I'd be ecstatic to get even $1/hour from it, but I don't.

Even if we DID make money (which we DON'T), would anything be wrong with it? I mean we're providing a valuable service to the community and if we got, say, $5 or $10 per attendee, would that be so bad?

But now that you mention it, maybe we SHOULD take the advice of the sponsors and many attendees and keep a profit. Hmmm...
