About the caravan, What's going on with it? I talked to Scott tonight and I agree with him and should meet up at the hooters at Schaumburg and head out around 12-12:30.

Hey, thanks Jamie... I'm gonna call your boys in the morning. Thanks for greasing the wheels for me! Truly appreciated.

BTW if anybody is looking for Fidanza flywheel replacement faces I found em for $55. I would've loved to support a 3S tuner but paying $150 for a freakin' little steel disc is outrageous. I get the clutch on monday so monday night and tuesday I'll be working like a madman to get the Stealth back together. I can't believe I'm cutting this so damn close.... sheesh. Wish me luck.

ditto for me...

Ro: could you give us more details on how easy of a job it is? and where did you buy the bushing from? Would Napa or any auto store have it. Last I checked, Mitsu. sells the entire A-Arm assembly ONLY and I thought we couldn't buy just the bushing. any info asap would help, bro.

its 38.82 for a first gen a-arm bushing.
Jaime....since you have a second gen the part number is MB808832
its the same bushing for both sides.

to change it......jack car up.....remove the wheels........the a-arm bushing is held in place wiht a bracket coming off the control arm.......basically underneath the footwell of the car.......you can't miss it.

there is two 15mm nuts and two 17mm bolts.....unbolt all of them and the bracket will come off.

the bushing is slide in place over a pin on the control arm.....you need to take a prybar (i used a breaker bar) and wedge it between the control arm and bend the control arm down and slide the bar across until you reach a crossmember........at this point you should be able to let go of the bar because the tension of the control arm pressing up on the bar will hold it in place. this should give you enough clearance to slide the bushing off the "pin" on the control arm.

after you remove the old one.....slide the new one back on.
(note: if you didnt look at howthe old bushing was on.....there will be a big letter R on one side......have it that you are able to read the R if you were behind the car.....trust me you'll understand when you see the bushing)

push the bushing down until its completely on the "pin"
place the bracket over the bushing and start the 15mm bolts to hold the bracket in place. The bracket will fit in between two ridges on the bushing so you'll know that the bracket is lined up correctly.

once you have the two 15mm nuts started..take a floor jack and jack on the bracket and compress the bushing until the bracket is flush enough that you can start one of the 17mm bolts...you need to use a jack because the new bushing is so much fatter than the old one.......theres no way you can get the bracket to line up without using the jack to press on it once you get that started.......remove the jack and tighten down the nuts and bolts

and thats pretty much it....you've done one side and move on the another.
you won't need to get an alignment or anything. and my car no longer shakes or vibrates........i love it!

it shoudlnt take you more than an hour (from the point you jack to car up to the point you're tightening your lugs on the wheels) to replace both bushings...if two guys work on it (each taking one side) it can probably be done in 20-30 mins

i took some pictures of my old bushing compare to a new bushing.....i'll try to get them on the computer tomorrow.

hope that helped

No, Scott didn't really agree to meet at hooters, I still think it's too damn far on the wrong side of the traffic, but if you all HAVE to meet there, leave at noon... there will still be traffic, but it should be less than year before last, when we left at like 2 or some such.

removing that bolt on the control arm would be a pain...well for me it would have been........disconnecting the sway bar end link would allow you pivot the control arm enough that you wont need the pry bar but it was more work for me to disconnect the sway bar end link then it was to use a pry bar

and scott...oh just deal with the traffic.........we're not in a rush or anything.........we met for the first NG at hooters....and it'd be nice to grab some lunch before taking off.
and last year carvaning with the wisconsin guys was fun........with tyler and matt blocking a lane of traffic so the whole caravan could merge as a group

MyKiss69 sells used / rebuilt engines. I just installed one this week for a guy, and it runs perfectly. Now I can't vouch for how long it will last, although that's probably dependent on the owner to some extent anyways.

He rebuilds them himself, and / or sells them from junked cars. The guy up here purchased one that Mykiss (Kevin) had rebuilt.

You might want to consider contacting him. Bet you won't get stories about how it'll be there tomorrow, the day after, etc. He's a good guy.

Just my .02

-Jeff
I would talk to him but the only bad part is that I already paid out to GT Pro. And it's like now that it isn't here, even if i got a different one there is no way it'll get here in time for me to drop it in.

So look out for the Focus SVT amongst all the 3Ses. So one hefty Blonde guy driving and a one legged dark hair guy . So hooters at noon eh? Sounds like a plan. I'll bring the bottle for the hell of it to NG.
