Well, life is better, I wound up taking it to Ultimate Driver (they are close, fair, and have a much better set of tools than I have). I'm glad I didn't drive further cause in just that short distance, the heat from the caliper rubbing because it was only on with one bolt had significantly heated up the rotor, the hub, and the lugnuts. Luckily, the rotor and caliper were going in the trash anyway.

Ira at UD wound up splitting the caliper, outside half from the inside half, to take out the rotor, and cutting the damn bold hole open on the caliper body, it turns out the damn bolt had siezed to the caliper, it was rotating fine in the hole, but had been "welded" to the caliper. Between cutting, cold chisling, and pneumatic hammer chisling, the damn thing FINALY came off.

What do you all think about using "anti-sieze" on the caliper bolts?

Fletch, examine the statement:

"The Sox are first place"

Is it a statement about how good the Sox are, or is it really just an indictment of their whole division for being crappy enough to ALLOW them to be in first place?

There no problem with using it for that application, but why not just lube the bolts up with 'brake lube', the thick blueish stuff ?

Oh, since my tranfer case is sitting next to me, what Dodge dealer should I go to for my TC recall replacement. I can just walk in with it and my VIN correct?
did you try crystal lake mitsu? they have teh chrysler stuff you need
BUT i dunno how good they are. also i thought they just checked teh transfer case and or refilled it with fluid and or redid one of the seals. and thats it.
i dont think they give you a new one!

either way you have to make sure when you drop the tranny make sure all the hoses and wire looms are out of teh way!

That's the minimum they have to do. I've heard that if you go in, and politely not accept anything less than a new TC, they have to give it to you... or usually do anyway. I know I can't go to the Mitsu dealer though has to be a Dodge dealer. Anybody with a Stealth get they're TC replaced? Where'd you go?

I think Jim and Jeff can do the paperwork under their "Milwaukee Mopar Motorsports" letter head to get a refund on the part, granted, you have to pay for the new one up front

DO NOT GO TO GLENVIEW DODGE. I had bigtime issues with those idiots. Anywho I should get the motor today or tomorrow. Can't wait, I got a new poineer cd deck for the Stealth this weekend, and bought Cobra FRS 6 mile walkie talkies per Ro. Well the motorola ones just looked so cheapie. So Luke and I will have them suckers and I think I have decided to leave as part of the caravan with you guys. I figured I wanna make sure the Stealth is running perfect when I set sail for indianapolis. =)

sucks really, but i doubt you will get a new one!
just by saying HERE is my old one! they have everything under the vin #
they want to see the car!

Damon,

Call Scott Babich in the Service Department at Northwest Valley Dodge in Elgin ( 847-888-8222 ), or Steve Wentziwitz in the parts department. Tell him / them that you are a friend of mine and explain your situation. I'm not saying that it will automatically get done for you, but he / they will bend the rules for me IF he / they can. Let me know.
