Default Maintenance in Lower Mainland BC

Let's use this thread to talk about maintenance in Lower Mainland area.

I just installed new Eagle GT tires. They are pretty nice. My car drives straight as an arrow but it is time to get a 4 wheel alignment anyways since my last set of tires was wearing unevenly.

Where are some places that know to disconnect the tie rod before doing the alignment on our AWS cars?

From Chang:
West Coast Alignment & Frame Ltd
1801 Powell Street, Vancouver

From Gerard:
21st Century alignment
6928 Palm Ave, Burnaby

Any others?

I am having a hard time changing gears sometimes. My clutch pedal sometimes has to be all the way to the floor before I can change gears. Sometimes it'll grind. I think I need a new master cylinder. Anyone changed theirs lately? Did you have the same sympton?

Where's a good place to get one?

Part number: MB555423

In USD:
$111.20 at Norco,
$97.30 at Cherry Hill ($128.80 for the Stealth)
$127.95 at 3SX
$111.20 at Rockville

The gasket in my Y-Pipe has been damaged for the past 2 years now. The Y-Pipe sometimes comes off after my mechanic doesn't tighten it properly and I accelerate hard. I think I should get a new Y-Pipe now.

Air Duct to Throttle Body
Part number: MD161557

In USD:

$99.82 at Norco
$99.82 at Rockville
$79.80 for Stealth $87.35 for the VR4 at Cherry Hill. EDIT: Prices changed. Now $91.20 for Stealth, $89.84 for VR4.

Thanks Gerard. I'll check them out sometime. How did you hear about them?

Just about to place an order for my Y-Pipe and master cylinder at Cherry Hill. The Y-Pipe price went up a few bucks since yesterday. Weird.

Any suggestions for a leaking rear differential? After a drive, it will leak about 10-15 drops of Redline gear oil. It doesn't leak if not driven.

I'm thinking the seals need to be replaced, or maybe the seam needs to be re-welded. Any reliable (hopefully well priced) places you recommend?

if you dont have a perpendicular crack along the gasket, its a waste of money to buy a new one. get a tclamp from any hardware store (i got mine from princess auto) and torque it down. pressure tested to 20psi with no leak. just take your worm clamp in and get a tclamp with similar size.

Hi Sam,

Instead of West Coast Alignment, go here:

Advance Automotive
314-5930 No. 6 Road, Richmond, BC V6V 1Z1
Telephone : 604-278-1803

They are one of the most well known alignment shops in lower mainland.
I've done last 2 alignments at Advance and they were able to set everything up the way I wanted. Talk to Johnny and he will do alignments on lowered cars and big wheels like 24"s.

Another place would be Dale's Alignment in Langley.

Dale's Alignment & Brake Ltd. (Langley B.C.) Established 1975.

hope this helps!

Hi Chang. This was where I had my alignment done last time. Did they do your Stealth? Did they disconnect the tie rod?

Glad I bought a new y-pipe. This is what happens when the gasket from an old y-pipe gets sucked into the throttle body. Interesting lime Stealth.

Update:

My car will be towed to the shop this week. Can't get into gear at all now.
