No, I never posted a thread. I simply changed my profile. I needed to have some things done to the car before the RMG in June so I took it to a reputable shop ran by someone reputable on the board. The car is far from done. We didn't get to all of what I wanted done and we ran into some issues but those ARE and WILL be taken care of eventually. I just hope I wasn't too much of a PITA and that he'll let me bring it back.

OK guys, thanks for all the help on this... I'll keep you guys updated on whatever I do next and how it goes... It's nothing new for you guys, since you've done this before, but this is a step above changing my own oil

I completed this yesterday, with no major problems.

Thank you to everyone who chimed in with advice and input, and I'll type up my experience along with the few pictures I took when I get a chance, as a guide for the next person who does it.

Thanks again to everyone who responded!

A warning to all, check the filter kit box for screws before you toss the box, i took me 30mins to figure out why my filter wouldn't bolt up with the factory bolts with the tranny, then i found the screws in the bottom of the box, i'm glad i didn't toss the box!

just curious...

is there any other fluids that need/could be changed while we are under there changing the tranny fluid - i.e. differential or the thing that the front drive shafts come from (i cant think of the name of it for the life of me, its what 4x4 trucks have to run the front scratch).

also, what is the general concensus on tranny fluid to be run....

No other fluids need to be changed other than tranny. For a more complete flush, however, the Torque converter itself would need to be flushed. My walkthrough does NOT include that.

As for concensus on Tranny fluid, anything that says ATF+3 or ATF+4 is acceptable. nothing else is.
