Default Need Help With My Tranny...

So here it is...i drive a 94 auto and 2 days ago my car began to slip and downshift very slow, for example id come up to a stop light or sign and would come to a complete stop and about 3 seconds later i could feel the car shift down into first, i can also feel hesitation while im driving. I immediatly took it off the road. I accidently ran over a cone the night the slipping started.

I need advice as to what could have happened or if the cone could have done anything major. Ever since i got the car i have had transmission lag going between reverse and drive and vice versa...could that have been early signs? Could this be a reoccuring problem? Please help guys, im dying to drive my car again!
