Late Shift

This morning some Mustang decided to race me on my way to work.
I had the throttle pinned I realized my transmission doesn't shift until almost 7k. My problem is that I lose all my power at 6k

Is there anyway to make this transmission shift sooner?

I would have beat him if my stupid atx shifted when I wanted it to. Or if I had a mtx I would have smoked him. It was real close though.

at WOT the shifting point is normal. Is your tranny in 'power' or 'eco' mode? you lose all power after 6k.. I'm guessing you have a cat. freeing up the exhaust will help a lot.

Tranny was in power mode and I am running a test pipe everything else stock. Maybe I have something wrong then . I thought it was normal for these cars to lose some or a lot of its hp past 6k

I haven't had a chance to dyno it or anything but when I raced that dude right around after 6k you could actually feel that I was loosing some of its power and it felt like the shift around 7k was just far to late
